is there a way to use a laptop dvd burner on a desktop easily and reliable ?

hi
I would like to use a internal laptop dvd burner on a desktop like a MATSHITA DVD-R   UJ-898 or MATSHITA - DVD-R UJ-85J or HL-DT-ST - DVDRAM GT51N , about them i don't know if they could be reliable and solid for a desktop

I can find them on amazon (don't know if there are new and originals) , i would like what do i need to use on a desktop , a sata cable or a power supply cable or just an usb adaptors (in this case do i need some drivers for windows )

just because i can find only Asus DRW-24D5MT and Hitachi-LG GH24 and according CD Drive Accuracy 2024 , many laptop dvd burners do score much better

do you use them?
do you use only a simple cable usb to power up (can i know which one on amazon europe ,Uk excluded)?
I have found a JSAUX  SATA USB 3.0, don't know if can power pup ssd , hard disk or even dvd burners
thanks

I use an UGREEN USB to SATA adapter, so i can use my internal DVD burner externally.

I tried another generic USB to SATA adapter, but it does not support optical drives.
These adapters needs an 12V 2A power adapter.

I also use an generic adapter for my laptop drives, no problems so far. I bought mine at ebay.
No drivers needed for those adapters in Windows.

As the Laptopdrives have a mini-SATA connector, a usual SATA-USB Adapters won't fit. You can get one, but it is easier and more convenient to get a slim/laptop drive case as e.g.:

Or just buy a complete external drive as:

I have a Pioneer  BD-RW  BDR-XD05 that has a 98.2340% accuracy rating according the the dbpoweramp forum.

I also have a LG (HL-DT-ST)  BD-RE  BH10LS30 with 97.9763% accuracy rating.  I don't like the the LG drives still use micro -B connectors though.
