Problem with 0.9.6 ML and NAS

Hii!

I've my music on a NAS.

With version 0.9.5 it play without problem.

When I upgrade at 0.9.6 version my music library filed report «Error» and nothing I see and play.

I downgrade to 0.9.5 and all work fine.

Why?

Thanks

P.S. Foobar work in portable mode.

I think I could understand him, he has a network attached storage device aka harddrive and when using 0.9.5 version his music played fine over the network, but when he went to 0.9.6 he had an error from the music library <<error>> and saw none of his files and couldn't play anything. When he went back to 0.9.5 everything was back fully working. He wants to know why the new version isn't working. Did I get it right?

Aren't there some more informational error messages in the Console?
Full-quoting makes you scroll past the same junk over and over.

You can try increasing the long-request limit as described here.

I've the same problem. Music-files stored on my NAS can't be find by f2k 0.9.6 ML. With f2k 0.9.5 it works as well.

Music-files stored on my Windows 2000-Server (ntfs) are readable in stored in the ML in 0.9.5 AND 0.9.5.

My NAS is an Iomega "Home Network Harddrive" and works with a linux distribution (smb for windows clients).

The key reported in the Microsoft's site aren't present in my XPSP3 system.

I've created (value=50) it and reboot.

Nothing change.

Please try again with this exe copied over your v0.9.6.2 install:
http://foobar2000.org/temp/foobar2000.exe
It will attempt to fall back to inefficient polling mode on in your scenario, but you'll at least get your ML content to show.

Hi.
I have the same problem with my NAS server. (network storage)
Add library gives me an error with all Foobar versions above 0.9.5.5
It is possible to add a folder and play the music but the library option to my NAS gives problems.
I switched back to version  0.9.5.5 and everything works fine again.
Maybe i have overlooked it but itsnt it possible to download earlyer versions here ?
I couldnt find any.

I've uploaded yet another build with wider checks for this failure case, same URL as before. If this still fails for you, please report what exact messages you're getting in the console, preferably from English Windows version.

I tried the newer one (still named #3) and it writes the same message to the console:

Folder watching failure: The request is not supported.

The new one is labelled #4, you're still running the old version.

Edit: Version #5 uploaded.

Got #5 now. Had to kill the browser cache to get it. And it even seems to work. It started indexing files and it wrote non parsable items to the console. Unfortunately it stopped after a while with error 71:

Location not parsable: "M:\Artists\A\Autechre\EP7", reason: I/O error (win32 #71)

Found this: http://www.pc-library.com/errors/error-code/71-0x47/. I'm looking into it.

I checked at the server. The limiting factor is the maxsearches setting. Maximum value in my environment is 1927. Apparently the polling is using up more.

Note that this is a large remote drive with many, many directories.
