Try version [a href="http://music.morbo.org/download/foo_quicktag.7z]0.6.1[/url]. I added  a "Add from file..." button, whice doesnt clear your existing entries when importing a qtg file. Requires msvcr71.dll in your foobar2000 folder.

Hi,

I just added foo_quicktag to my fb2k line-up.  I had an error pop-up after applying a rating to one of my tracks.  It appears to be related to the fact that I have the database set to "block tag update operations".  This is the error:

INFO (CORE) : startup time: 578 ms
INFO (foo_uie_albumlist) : Could not find or message foo_uie_albumart.
INFO (foo_uie_albumlist) : Could not find or message foo_uie_albumart.
WARNING (CORE) : Verboten!

Any idea if this is a problem or not?  I don't want to change the actual file tags of my music, but I would like to have the ratings applied.  This appears to be the only way.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Actually no. All I could tell you was that I hit '4' (my shortcut for Rating=4) and then the TITLE tag changed to 'tracknumber'. Fixed the tag, went on playing the next song and it crashed the instant I tried to rate that one. I am not sure why it crashed - I can only speculate, which isn't going to get me anywhere. Please let me now if it crashes again, in the mean time I will try stress testing the component with your qtg when I have the time.

Hello musicmusic and everybody here, and thank you for your good work on foobar components.

I have a request for Quicktag, but I don't know if it's simple to do, and if it's simple?

Moreover, my own problem is not essential but estethics, but I think this can be usefull in other cases.

So, I use Quicktag to tag Genres and Subgenres of my songs, and I have a very big list of Genres/Subgenres, so, i will be charmed if :
- when is no genre present, only main genres are displayed
- when genre is present, other genres are displayed and subgenres of this main genre are displayed too.

So, my request, i think, is to have the possibility of display or not a menu entry besed on foobar expressions.

So, if you think this will be a great feature, I will be very happy.

RATING=3 and RATING=5).  This needs to be specific to each tag item.  You could add a check box for it in the Details box, just underneath the "Value" edit box.

This adds RATING=3 if no RATING is present, otherwise it changes RATING=3 to RATING=5 and vice versa

I don't want to change RATING to something else, Quick Tag already does this.  What I want to be able to do is add multiple tags.  Eg.
GENRE=Alternative
GENRE=Rock

I'm not particulary interested in developing foo_quicktag any further - 0.9 brings masstagger scripts to the contextmenu, which was the only reason foo_quicktag was created. Also, I think you can use foo_lua already with 0.8.3 to overcome the narrow scope of tagging operations you can do with foo_quicktag.

Hm, foo_lua seem to be very interresting. So, i've readed it's not supported from two years, i think there is not a lot of chances to see it ported under 0.9...

So, if masstager is accessible to the context menu, i think my ID steel good, and the possibility to associate a foobar condition on the show/hide argument (and why not on the text displayed) can be very wonderfull...

Hello,

I have 2 other features suggestions for Quicktag :

- The first one is the ability to get menu from a text (csv or something else) file. Cause for instance, when i want to add Country list, i don't want to add the all 192 countries 1 by 1...

- The second one is the ability to get a list of values from a tag, i try to explain my idea : i want to select a number of files and to choose a tag (ie country or genre) and to have the ablilty to generate for each encountered value of the selected tag a new entry in the quicktag menu. The idea is to geneerate values of the menu from already tagged files.

I think these features can improove interestingly the functionnalities of this great (essential) plugin.

And, as anytime, thank you a lot to all developers for your great work!!

Hi, It would be very useful to have "Move up" and "Move down" buttons besides the "Sort" button.

Amazing.. right now I discovered Preferences -> Core -> Context menu items, where you can drag&drop the menu items to arrange them.

Hey Guys,

i've tried to use foo_quicktag to rate my music files and noticed that it removes all id3v2 tags from mp3 files when rating applied. I found an option to to update only database info but not mp3 tag itself but is there any way to update id3v2 tag to store rating within mp3 file instead and have all the other tags intact?

... not sure but, apparently, foo_playcounter does the same to mp3 tags

PS. I'm using 0.8.3 with foo_id3v2 component.

I would like to have some rating plugin, which doesn't interfere (doesn't write any tags into) files, but it only stores into database. I don't want my files tampered.

anybody know another plugin, which does that?

i am porting my scripts from quicktag to the 0.9 masstager and...it doesnt work ! can any1 help me ?
here is code that adds a trailing zeroes to the tracknumber and/or changes from 01/06 format to 01 etc (used to with quicktag)
