Is this RC3???

Today's CVS sweep reveals further major revisions to the oggvorbis libraries.

All bitrates are now selectable and active. If you wish to try out oggdrop, oggenc and vorbis.dll (for CDex), you will be able to get them later today at:
http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~rja00/

Seems likely that if this is not RC3, it very nearly is!!!

Thanks a lot.

I tryed the oggenc.exe, but who can tell me what does these changing numbers mean exactly? And the oggdrop seems to work only on 128 k mode.

Hi All,
Sorry for delay, They should be there in the next 10 mins, or so.

These were made with the latest CVS (I just checked it out), so I guess they are RC3 VBR modes!!

The latest Ogg Traffic over at vorbis.com indicates that RC3 is on the move again and that there will be an official release soon. Yay! Of course there was similar talk late September and August. :lurk: Hopefully though there has been enough time passed that we can expect great improvements all round. What I am really interested to see are some first beta releases of their OGG media wrapper format and tools for it. Amd of course Tarkin!

It is not RC3, since it's still missing some modes (mono, 32/22khz), but it seems very close.

The psychoacoustics are 'final', plus or minus minor tweaks or bugfixes.

It incorporates the 'GT' tuning.

I have put an optimized oggenc (lacking the debugging code) on my site (http://sjeng.org/ftp/vorbis)

Are you bored with the standard colours of your copy of oggdrop?

If so, you can download the 'nearly' RC3 version of oggdrop with a sexy, psychedelic colour change at:
http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~rja00/

It works the same, it's just a bit of fun!!
