3rd Party Plugins - (fb2k) / Re: Playlist Organizer (aka foo_plorg) replacement on Jscript Panel 3
Last post by bloniaq -Is there a way to configure what happen when track is dragged and dropped to a playlist on tree? For me my active playlist is changing to the destination playlist (the one I copied track to), while I would want have been on a source playlist (the one I copied file from). I couldn't find a setting to define this behavious, although in JScript Panel I saw a on_drag_drop function - so I assume it could be already developed. Is that so? If not, please consider this as an idea for the future.

Last post by nmxny24 -Also, what might help me better understand is if there's some app in JRiver or Foobar that can draw spectrograms like this. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?attachments/t_t480s-png.324418/ That looks like something Izotope Rx draws. https://www.izotope.com/en/products/rx.html

Last post by bennetng -Okay, that's pretty clear. Actually, it looks like Kal now uses Merging HAPI, which I think includes DACs and ADCs, so then no sync issues, yes? https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/room-correction-hardware-software-issues-options-please-advise.49900/#post-1789735Right, all I/O channels share a single internal clock so they are all in sync.

However, it just occurred to me that as so many of my favorite recordings were made long before the loudness warsI don't have your files so can't answer it for you. Just want to give an example that some apparently non-loudness war contents can contain high intersample overs:

Support - (fb2k) / Re: Replaygain one file as multiple albums? It used to work...
Last post by Case -The reason I suggested using separate files are not that complex. The single file approach has worse support, limited tagging abilities, slower to encode to as you can't process multiple tracks at once. And depending on audio codec changing tracks can be slower because it always involves seeking. Also if you ever want to manage your library or copy single tracks you can do a lot more with just file manager when tracks are separate. With single images you need an advanced audio player that understands the formats and track separation to make any sense of what you have. And as a bonus backups work better when the files are smaller.

Last post by esa372 -I would just select the group of songs from side one, Replaygain them as an album, and then do the same for the songs from side two. I could even scan each individual song as an album, when needed. It worked great, and it still works with Apple codecs, but not WavPack or FLAC... which makes me think it's a tagging issue ...maybe?
@Case
Hmm... I'll admit that my memory ain't perfect, but I don't think I'm mistaken; I've used this technique since v0.8.3 - some of my older files still have the different gain adjustments from earlier scans.
I am curious, though... why do you think "everything works better" by storing each track in its own file? What are the benefits? I have used full-album files with fb2k for over 15 years, and never had any issue (until now).
Thanks!

Last post by Case -If you need better tagging support you could encode the tracks as separate files and place them in a Matroska container. Though my recommendation would be to stop trying to store an entire album in a single file. Everything works better and you have much better compatibility by storing each track in their own file.

Movie/Multichannel audio / Re: Room Correction Hardware/Software Issues, Options. Please Advise.
Last post by nmxny24 -ReplayGain data is collected by scanning the source materials without taking room correction into account.Okay, that's pretty clear. Actually, it looks like Kal now uses Merging HAPI, which I think includes DACs and ADCs, so then no sync issues, yes? https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/room-correction-hardware-software-issues-options-please-advise.49900/#post-1789735
Because you are doing room correction and room correction is basically a customized EQ applied to the source. After room correction the waveform will change and ReplayGain peak values based on the source cannot precisely reflect the peak values after room correction.
If you still want to do it in the RG way you will need to store the room corrected audio data into a separate set of audio files using a lossless floating point PCM format, then perform RG scan on these floating point files to find the actual, room corrected peaks.
If you are doing room correction on the fly, then you are sending the room corrected audio data to the audio driver, and even my cheapo Sound Blaster has a realtime meter to monitor the room corrected input level to the device driver. Basically, you just lower the software playback level to the device driver so that the meter peaks at several dBs below full scale and the job of preventing intersample over is done.QuoteI think I get most of this though I need a good definition of what's meant by floating point in such as audio data file.Synchronization is required only if you want to operate two independent devices simultaneously with one clock source. It is not required if you only use the ADC to capture a room correction profile and use the profile during playback. I just wanted to point out USB has no role on syncing two independent devices.
The only thing Kal did find was that use of DIRAC imposed nearly a 20db gain loss when he reviewed and used this DAC for room correction. https://www.stereophile.com/content/okto-research-dac8-pro-da-processor To make up for that loss he resorted to the rather clunky solution of installing three of these stereo preamps. https://www.stereophile.com/content/topping-pre90-line-preamplifier
But I still wish I could understand how Kal apparently achieved system/room eq if he did not have to contend the connectivity protocols you describe or what he did to circumvent those issues. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/audiopraise-vanitypro-review-hdmi-audio-extractor.30440/page-14
