Title: move files and overwrite existing?
Post by: Ooddiittyy on 2013-02-12 19:27:51
Many apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer yet: is it possible to force foobar to overwrite existing files during a move/copy files operation, instead of generating an error list?

If the issue is unclear here is my usage scenario: recently-obtained files sit in a holding folder until gain/tag info has been adjusted, then I send them to my main music folder with a set naming scheme. I have some updated files with which I want to replace older copies via the "move" command, but upon so doing I get an error that "object already exists" for the files that I want to replace. Rather than use Explorer to manually delete the extant files I'm hoping foobar can do it automatically.

Thanks for any input.

After almost 20 years of using this component i'm still wondering if there's an answer to this question...!? ;)

This would definitley be nice to have as a feature: being able to replace files in place, i.e. overwrite existing files with the same name.

This would be really useful, the inability to overwrite existing files has been an issue for me for a long time in the otherwise awesome tool that is File Operations.
Is there any chance this gets added in a future update ?
