Apple TV: 8 channel for Apple Lossless and 48 kHz up-/downsampling?

Hello everybody,

I don't know if I'm right here with my questions anyway the apple guys couldn't help me.

I have many mp4-containers with 6 channel (5.1) ALAC and they play fine on my Apple TV 4.
If the container has an audio stream with 8 channels (7.1) I even cannot see the stream.
So, isn't it supported?

And does someone know if Apple TV is still forcing to play everything with 48 kHz (also via homeshare?)?
According to this.

Best regards,
Felix

I have new information.
From Apple Community ALAC 7.1 should work.

I have to do further testing.

7.1 works.

44.1 kHz works via Apple TV --> AirPort
