No. I use it too, but only for it`s Romeo support, and for overburning, since Nero`s overburning already borked here and NTI`s never did.

You're not alone...I use it also. IMHO is very stable and has almost all features I need.
Works flawlessly in conjunction of my trusted LG burner.
I didnt like version 6.x: Its too big and looks like more a 5.x skinned version.

Dunno in it's an issue with my drive, or the media, or what, but I was once trying to perform this overburn (709Mb, IIRC), and Nero always stopped burning at 99%, rendering the last few seconds of the movie I was burning unusable. (wasted 3 CDs that way, all three different brands)

I tried the same file with NTI, and it burned perfectly at first try.

there ain`t no "spesialety" with nero...

the write engine.. is poor..
(there is better alternatives..)
the "vcd/svcd/dvd" is poor..
(i never dreamd of using nero for video..)
+ alot of other minor things..

ahead have actually intreduced more bugs
in nero.. then they have sucseeded in removing..
after the intro of 5.5.

if you are gonna compare all of those
bug-fix releases.. the 5.5.4.8
is probably the best.. but then youre gonna miss out alot...

the popularety of nero.. i think.. is
rapidly releases.. (ppl. think there`s lot of dev. going on..
but that is not true..)
and a friendly interface..

in comersial "all in one" app. nero is the king...
(not shure why..)

but both nti & vob are proven better...

so if nti does your jobb.. why change..

I used NTI with UDF support & found when checking with Nero cdspeed It produced errors @ the end of the CD-R.

Interesting... I get a single "bad block" after burning with NTI (Joliet) and checking with Nero CDSpeed ("Scandisc"), but it doesn't seem to hurt access to anything.  I can still access all data on the CD-R, so it seems the issue is moot.

NTI probably has the friendliest interface (also, it doesn't crap up the system registry like Nero does).  What I really like about NTI is the way it automatically sets the volume label of a CD-R to the current date/time -- such a small thing, but small things like that make all the difference sometimes.  Just put in the CD-R, drag/drop files, then burn.

The thing I like least about NTI is the demand on CPU time... even when not needed, it seems priority is set to 'critical'... so I can't do much else while a CD is burning.  No big deal to me, but this might bother some people.

isn't using overburn considered dangerous?

Overburning is a bit risky (depends how much you overburn, and on other factors too).  I wouldn't use it for anything really important unless absolutely necessary.  Like overclocking, it's using something beyond what it was designed for and that always entails risks.  Of course, many people don't care.
