Case i not listing *.ape.
If you like a song and want to duplicate it in a playlist, just add the same track multiple times to a playlist.
It's tedious to do this with dozens of files. And why You not allow multiple *.lnk's to be stored in the one/same folder with target file? It's a pain/torment to create for every file *.apl file and yet through a text-based (*.txt). Please anblock this plugin on dublicats.

a higher cutoff frequency means more black space in the frequency area

What?

He means the almost always guaranteed huge emptiness in a spectrogram due to absolutely nothing anyone would listen to having high frequency data.
But it's kind of the reverse, the higher the cutoff, the less pure black. But that depends on your spectrogram's parameters. If you turn the sensitivity down all the blue/purple there would be black too.

It is the reverse of what he is saying.  Raising the cutoff means more frequencies get through, not less.

A higher cutoff frequency means more black space below the cutoff frequency, and black spaces those below the cutoff frequency are much easier to detect than black spaces those above the cutoff frequency.

Not sure pgyt understands what you are even asking, but I have the impression that people are abusing his text output tool for things it was never meant for. If your baby is abused you are not very keen on helping people abuse it further.

But that's pgyt's fault for gluing a browser into the component. It's sad to see everything turning into Electron app or a browser-powered monster.

I don't know if Peter understands reply #472. It certainly doesn't make sense to me. But if it's related to your attempts to abuse shell links (*.lnk file) the issue will be solved by using proper method to duplicate tracks.

I don't see the rating scale changing. It would break compability and 0-5 scale is pretty universal. Though modern online world seems to have moved to just "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" rating.

Imagine, if you really liked a specific song from the playlist and want to duplicate it on the disk and in the playlist
If you like a song and want to duplicate it in a playlist, just add the same track multiple times to a playlist.

*.lnk files exist with the purpose create shortcuts/labels on target files.
The *.lnk file format is meant only to be used as a clickable shortcut link. It can kind of be abused to duplicate same track in multiple directories with foo_lnk, but that is it.

For your usage I'd recommend *.APL files, Monkey's Audio Image Link File. It's supported out-of-the-box since foobar2000 v2.0, with older foobar2000 versions one needs Monkey's Audio Decoder. It's meant for creating shortcuts to individual tracks inside album images, but works for making taggable copies of existing tracks too.
So instead of creating a shell shortcut to a file you want to duplicate, create a new text file and copy/paste the following content there:
Code: [Select]
[Monkey's Audio Image Link File]
Image File=name-of-target-file.ext
Start Block=0
Finish Block=-1
Save the file with .apl extension and you can now add the file to a playlist. It will by default show the existing tags of the file. But if you change the tags the new info will be written to the .apl file and you can do your customized copies with full tag support.

foobar2000 for Mac / Files with "?" in name do not appear in library when stored on external drive
Last post by ongaku -
My music is on an external, APFS-formatted drive. Any file with "?" in the name that is stored on the external drive is not picked up by foobar2000. But if I copy those files to my Mac's internal drive, they are picked up just fine.

Happens with latest foobar2000 Version 2.7 preview 2024-06-20.

Here's a screenshot: all Predator files are both on the external drive and the internal drive. But the ones with a "?" in the filename are only picked up on the internal drive by the media library.

I'd like to apologise about my off topic ramblings above.

I do have a comment to make about foo_quicksearch though.

When you do a quicksearch for same..., a playlist is created with a lock. Nothing wrong with that in principle but with my amateur developer hat on, it does not do it properly...

Code: [Select]
auto api = playlist_manager::get();
const size_t pl = api->get_active_playlist();
const bool locked = api->playlist_lock_is_present(pl);
// true as expected
const uint32_t mask = api->playlist_lock_get_filter_mask(pl);
// always zero which is the bug

It seems the lock does prevent renaming so the mask needs to reflect that.

set up the album art uploader with the plugin today through PowerShell 7/Catbox; working well, but for some reason this specific album - Viator, by Jack Stauber - just refuses to upload the album art and spits out 'status:259 and error:' every time

tried reducing the resolution since it was 3000x3000: no change
tried changing filetype from .jpg to .png: no change
clearing artwork does nothing, and manually uploading the progress bar doesn't move and it gives up after about 10s
no extra metadata in properties, however it did have some option related to windows security to unblock it due to it coming from another pc - tried this, no change
also tried replacing the file entirely with album art sourced from a different site: still refuses to upload

tried replacing the file with another image entirely, though, with the same name 'Viator', and it uploaded successfully
makes me think it's something about the cover itself that it's having trouble processing - colours? really have no idea

original version of the album art itself: X
and a link to a successful, manual Catbox upload of the same image: https://files.catbox.moe/q1wvv8.jpg
