itunes 6.0.3 just came out, but it looks like Quicktime didn't change so i doubt it matters.

Small note Gabriel: Ivan has posted a small update for ndaudio.dll in the pre-discussion thread. To avoid confusions, could be great to add a link for this bugfix in your webpage or remade a nero package...it's just a suggestion.

I can't ABX all high anchor samples but surely hear SBR,PS and low anchor artifacts. Will be ok if some of  my results won't have a high anchor result?

How is preferible to send the results?  As soon as  there is result for each sample so this way you should be enable to already obtain some results to start estadistic calculation. Or just wait untill the last day and then send all results.

in windows, start a command prompt in the test folder and type the following command to run all batch files :

C:\TEST>for /L %n IN (1,1,18) DO call sample%n

EDIT :

More complete version, put in a .bat file..

@echo off
for /L %n IN (1,1,18) DO call sample%n
for /L %n IN (1,1,18) DO del sample%n.bat

Edit : if you put this in a batch, you need to escape the % with another % ::

for /L %%n IN (1,1,18) DO call sample%%n.bat
for /L %%n IN (1,1,18) DO del sample%%n.bat

It's 1:30 am, and I've done samples 1 and 10-17.  I get an error on sample18.ecf (cannot open : null)

Impressive performance, by the way... Not bad at all, for 48kbps

EDIT : Corrected : if such an error occurs, re-download the offending sample and re-extract and decompress it/them.  Works now.

I tried on my side and there's no problem here (sample is waiting.wav). Decoding is fine and all files were loaded

I'd suggest you to try not sending them late, as it could be too late if you wait up to the last minute.
Moreover, in the unlikely case that something is going wrong with your results, it would be better for you to be informed sooner.

Thanks for reply. Did you receive my email with the first result? is everything alright with the result? It's my first participation in public test.

Is it ok if I submit results made with the incorrect timing? The ABX'ing should be ~equally straightforward with the correct timing (I think, for these samples with obvious artifacts).

Wow! We really need well-tuned free AAC encoder (at least LC). Maybe Gabriel can provide patch for FAAC to apply well-tuned LAME PsyAccoustic model to FAAC?

I don't think Gabriel will be switching from LAME to AAC dev.  If he does work on AAC, it will be on top of that developement, and I don't know if the psycho acoustic model will work on a different codec.  it would be nice to be enlightened on the subject.
