foobar wont play this mp3

When trying to play this file, foobar just skips to the next song without any error messages.
It worked fine when using some older version of foobar (IIRC 0.7.7 still worked fine).

Anyway, here's the file.

Can't reproduce with foobar2000 0.8.

I downloaded the file to test, but it played without any problem for me.
This is with foobar 0.8 (special install, including all components).
Included below is the "Technical Info" from the "Properties" dialogue for your file.
Maybe it will help you in some way.

The encoding delay and padding values seem a bit odd to me.
Do you know which encoder was used to create the file?

It works with normal 0.8 standard input but not with the modified one delivered with kode54's mad input plugin (at least here).

Works here with 0.8. Doesn't sound good though - prolly cos its not my kind of music...

Reproduced. Won't play. No error messages. This is with the foo_input_std that came with Kode54's foo_mad. Neither mpglib nor MAD decoder helps. The foo_input_std that came with the last special installer (0.8) plays it back just fine. Also tried 1by1 with the in_mad plug for reference. Played back just fine. Didn't bother to try more players.

But are you really sure you want to playback this file? It might be Peter buildt a quality control filter® into the latest version of foo_input_std...?

Temporary fix.

Yes I want, as I can't find the CD (I think it's not avaliable anymore, at least according to their website) and I can't get my hands on a better rip of the CD either.

Ehmmmrr.... (think hard) .... I can't really remember straight away, and I'm not sure that when I remember (I can check out later, and anyways I got a backup of the installfile somewhere) that the answer would be appropriate for these forums. Might have to find some other solution ....
