FLAC Playback Issues on latest version

As the title suggests, I'm getting some regular audio dropouts on the most recent build whilst playing back FLAC audio. It seems to happen more on early playback, i.e. it gets better over time. Is this a known issue? Any suggestions?

Thanks in anticipation.

Only playback related changes in a long time have taken place in WASAPI output's event based mode. There are no known issues.

There was a user who reported having glitches with Windows 10 Creators Update's new USB Audio Class 2.0 driver but there has been no word if the glitching stopped with manufacturer's driver.

I've managed to recreate the problem with other audio software. I'm also getting audible glitches when not playing any sound at all - any suggestions for the best place to start looking?

Thanks again.

LatencyMon is a utility that can help. Back in the Windows 8 days, I used it to identify a buggy USB Wi-Fi network driver that was not releasing control back to the kernel often enough, causing audio dropouts. I replaced the driver with one from the manufacturer and the issue disappeared.
That's so plausible, I can't believe it.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Just to round this post off, it turned out that the output section of my audio interface had developed a fault. It's gone in for repair.

Hi Guys, I've posted this on other threads whenever I see my solution not mentioned and the problem persisting because I believe it is one of the most common reasons for audio dropout. Few people seem to have solved this problem so you can try this if you haven't already done so.

I too have had all these problems and tried everything and nothing worked. So finally I heard somewhere that updated drivers are not necessarily the best thing especially if they are by the hardware manufacturer because these can be buggy. So as a desperate last resort and with practically nothing else left to try I deleted my up to date specialist driver for a hardware USB interface therefore forcing windows to install the default generic MS Windows audio driver which I had on before altering it, to try to play high res files. All I can say is PROBLEM SORTED!!
