anime encoding challenge......

some of you perhaps noticed my try on the a/v uploads section, but it was a flop [sorry about that,it won't happen again;a/v uploads section wasn't functional.....]

so now,on a web of it's own i present you with the results of toying with some anime.....576x432@1,2Mbit/s

btw. each of those zip archives holds a piece of text too;codec settings, source info, avs script.....don't presume i only pack images to my archives.....

wouldn't short clips be a nicer way to compare?

comparing lossy-video codecs through lossy jpegs is a bit like a police lineup through fogged glass...

yeap, but all the "suspects" are observed thru the same fogged glass,so they all consider themselves equal in the eyes of "law"....(hehe)

seriously tho', i would post clips if i had the web-space..(each .avi is cca.5MB,and i don't have the space...)...although  that doesn't necessarily mean that you would see some other differences between the clips.(ie. some differences that jpeg's didn't transfer)..these jpeg's are a good representation of achieved quality;also,realvideo9 clips are a good representation of that compression system.....
on jpeg's you can see the artefacts, you can see the sharpness, the colors...what more could man ask(hehe)

anyway,if it's comforting thought to you,i have tried to upload one clip, but i couldn't-av upload section not working...

(main problem for me are the web-pages;i just wan't to test codecs, and i don't wan't to publish web pages,i don't wan't to write descriptions no more...;ideal thing would be some larger dump for test clips or zipped images or whatever.....no html no crap..just files and descriptive filenames.(also, inside the .avi i can enter complete avs scripts etc. with the "abcAVI Tag Editor"...)...if someone knows of something like that please inform....so (for a change) we can all post our test clips etc....ftp of some sort would be nice......although,to tell the truth,i already did many of the tests i intended,so i'll probably stay silent untill next big codec arrives......)
