[Trolling] Best pro audio editor of 2021

Please suggest only a professional editor, not a DAW.

A good editor is one you are proficient with already, and can work blindly through "muscle memory". I wouldn't want to change the program because a new year rolled over.

My vote is for Sound Forge, a few versions back from the current.

I can't open my MP4/AAC-LC .DASH format with it, but with Audition I can, how to open it with SF?

You asked for editors, but you already have one that works? The only suggestions I would have had for you would be Ocenaudio, Tenacity (Audacity fork), or a DAW with editing capability. Tenacity is already bordering on DAW with its multi track editing and wanting to render out your work a the end.

What do I know, I've been known to use Logic Pro to render MIDI files and splice up LP recordings after processing them with RX.

I use free trials. The programs you mentioned are not pro.

What do you mean? Pro in what way? What are you doing in these programs that needs paid version, and free program can't do?

Clearly they must cost literally thousands of dollars, which would make them more expensive than most DAW products.

It's like comparing Photoshop with Microsoft Paint!

Please tell me the all alts to those free editors, but pro.
