How to use ALAC decoder?

Hi:

I downloaded the ALAC decoder from rarewares, but cant get it to work, the readme says to just run it and it will display instructions, but it just flashes like when Lame has an error in the command line.

How do i get it to work?

thanks.

Maybe you should try to run it from command line... (Start menu -> run -> cmd)

(But not in audio :) )

that worked, but should the alac file to be decoded be in the same directory as the decoder?

still no luck, what should i type into the command line?

right now i have "F:>encoders\alac\alac -f output.wav leper.m4a", and leper.m4a is in the same folder as alac.exe, and it doesnt work

it says it "failed to open input file 'leper.m4a': no such file or directory"

EDIT:

I got it now, i wasnt typing the full path to the input file
