Apparent borders inside Text Display

The way the borders are so apparent inside the Text Display really bugs me. It really sticks out compared to all other components. Here's an example of what I mean: Album Art Viewer vs Text Display https://imgur.com/GcWRRmZ

I don't suppose there is a way to get rid of that "inside border/padding"? Is there another similar plugin that displays text maybe?

Hey there,

Out of curiosity what OS and foobar version are you on?

I use foo_textdisplay and have no borders at all (Win10). At least in foobar 1.4 series, Splitters / Tabs / Playlist Tabs have borders that can be toggled in Layout Editing Mode with a right-click (have to be precise to right-click splitters).

As an alternative I guess Lyric Show 3 and ESLyric both have fallback text if you de-select all lyric sources to stop them downloading or displaying local lyrics - LS3 only when playing, ESL also when not playing - so depends what text you want exactly. That was what I used to do before I switched to text display. :D (LS3 can actually highlight and color text on the same line, better than text display in that respect).

Perhaps there is also a Spider Monkey / JScript Panel solution if you know how to code stuff... ::)

Cheers

Oh god, I think Lyric Show 3 or ESLyric will work for me! Didn't know you could set what text you want. I'll try it out more tomorrow, thanks!  :D

Hmm I have some issues with these two plugins...

Lyric Show 3 "lags" a bit when playing a new track, probably because it searches / loads lyrics. But I don't show any lyrics, and I have turned everything lyrics related off in the settings... But it still "lags" a little when playing a new track.

ESLyric works quite good. Except I don't really like the fade in and out effect of my background image when playing a new track.

Any suggestion?

Hey...

LS3 - you mean a delay displaying fallback text? There is none for me. Did you remove all lyric sources from the left ('search order') to the right? (right-click panel > Preferences)

ESL - I never noticed background fade, just using a solid color here. Appears there are no settings to change that. :-\

Cheers

LS3: Sorry bad explaining - no the whole player lags when playing a new track. Gets worse the more instances of LS3 I have. Yes I removed them to the right.

ESL: I actually went with this one despite the fading. But it's too bad the text is centered, and you cant change that. =(

Anyway, if you know of more plugins that can show text and have background color / image, do tell. =)
