Avatar Question

I remember that last year a change was instituted to the avatar policy which created a long discussion. What was the final decision? Is it still a 6KB limit?

Look in avatar settings:
" Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 8 KB.
The following file types are allowed: gif .jpeg .jpg .png"

Nevermind, the control panel states the limits.
