Also, US6774820 has already expired according to Google Patents.
Not a lawyer, knowing nothing about it, but ... . Seems like unpaid fees can make patents show up as expired - and they could be resurrected later.

(Those more familiar with the legalese, feel free to respond there as well.)

Well to be fair, compatibility issues were for a few days with multi-channel or 32-bit. Apparently.
... although there is a mention of compatibility issues at the release of 5.24. (I haven't tested it. Those curious can find old versions at .)

But quickly ape'ing a CDDA track (from a tagless .wav) with 3.99/4.12/5.71/6.61/7.00/7.23, they all generate bit by bit the very same files. sha-1'ing the files yes.
General - (fb2k) / Automatic Album creation
Last post by John Clement -
I play all of my music by complete albums, and do not mix it up.  Each album is in a separate folder on my disk in a master folder.  I would like to just have Foobar create a series of albums from the master folder with the album name the same name as the folder. Then have the left hand window simply list the album name and the RH window the contents of the album with a small window showing the cover.

At one time I had laboriously configured Foobar this way, but now after a crash, I no longer have it setup.  I may be able to get back the original configuration files from a backup, but the disk with the drive letter E has now appeared as D, and I cannot reassign it to E.  Yes I used the Disk configuration tool, but E is not on the list of assignable drives and there is no other disk partition appearing as E.

I am sure there are others who would like to listen to compete works this way without the inconvenience of building a play list.  I want to configure it similarly to the Android Folder Player.  My music folders are actually in several master folders according to where they were acquired, such as purchased from Amazon, ripped from my CDs, or recorded from my tapes/records.

General - (fb2k) / Re: Confusion with rating tag field columns in different panels
Last post by dgdsu -
Now! Here we are! Thanks again @marc2k3 ... That's why. I think the Spider Monkey panel and the properties panel us %rating% from foo_playcount and I use $meta(rating) in the default playlist column. That explains it. Thanks a million!

That leads to the question if $meta(rating) does make any sense (regarding independency) and if I can extract that information anywhere else. Is it hard to change properties panel and Spider Monkeys panels behaviour in that manner? If not it makes maybe sense to turn away from the independent approach.

EDIT: ok to change the properties panel was easy. I obviously created a META alias already back in the days seomwhere. So simply adding the RATING field to the properties options showed up my custom $meta(rating).
EDIT2: It seems that trying the same on Spider Monkeys playlist won't work because it just holds settings for the display but not for where the user input gets stored? Or do I need a new field addition then? Changing the exisiting rating field does not has the awaited effect.
