Is it possible that I hear a difference in sound between 2.1 & 3.0 beta?

To my ears, the new 3.0 beta sounds cleaner. It's definitely an improvement.

But speaking of sound quality, I have Windows 7 64-bit, and a Creative X-Fi Titanium sound card. I'm currently using beta 2 that uses the polling based option. Between low latency event and polling based, which would bring the best sound quality out of the two for my X-Fi Titanium card? I currently have my output data format set to 24-bit. From what I've read, it seems that one is for usb sound cards, and the other is for a dedicated PCI express sound card (what I have).

Also, what do you think would bring better sound quality, WASAPI or ASIO?
