How to configure/customize Album Art View as it was in FB 1.6.x?

Hello, I am sorry, I cannot find anymore the option to customize/configure the Album Art View component.
In FB 1.6.x I was able to configure the front, back, cd and so on search file order and location (subfolder) using, e.g., "..\front.*".

How can do that with FB v2 ?

File>Preferences>Display>Album art.  << original confusing answer

File>Preferences>Display. Look under Album Art in the right hand pane. It's not changed at all.

I'm talking about Library Search.
I found out what's going on: The file has no title metadata, so its filename appears in foobar as the title.
It seems the old version of foobar could find the track by filename, but the new version cannot.

Can we have a better Unicode alias for '/' , right now it's like this 'Fate⁄Stay Night' as you can see the alias for '/' covers the name of the album a little , recommendations - '/'   'Ⳇ'  '〳'  '᜵'   '∕ '   '⧸'

That has nothing to do with layout editing mode. You can move the splitters even if you skip that part. That is how they currently work, Peter is aware of the request to restore old locking behavior. I can't comment if things will change.

It's only that way on Segoe UI as far as I can tell. The first replacement character you suggest is the actual forward slash that the replacement character replaces. That is an illegal character on Windows filesystems and can't be used.
Out of the suggestions '∕' is ok. It's actually a slash, the others are not and depending on the font they don't either show up at all or don't look like a slash.

"Album List" is case insensitive (normal).
Sending to "Playlist Manager" displayed the combined number of uppercase and lowercase letters.
Not normal since Beta 7.

I have artistname "Taeyeon" and TAEYEON.
91 in total. Only uppercase numbers are displayed (20).

I'm on an iPhone now , so the one you said was fine was the one that is in the current foobar2000 , I think this also looks 'Ⳇ' good , I am not to decide what is correct , so anything goes .

Prerferences > Media Library > Album List > Actions
Duble-click action: Send to New Playlist
Middle button action: Create Autoplaylist
The number sent to "Playlist Manager" is different.
Is this the default?

Not from foobar2000 v2.0 beta 7.
I don't know when.

a full width SOlidus "／" would be the best thing that should replace the current solidus

edit : just saw how it actually looks in windows 11 , the current selection of the lookalike for Solidus '/' , is all fine

FB v2 Beta 8 not appearing in Task Manager among the running applications

Hello, I don't know if relevant, but in my Windows 10, 32bit, with all the new patches available as of today, as I updated from Beta 7 to Beta 8, FB v2 started running, and even played for over 1h but no "trace" of it in the Task Manager among the running applications (while it is playing audio).

Browsing all the items listed in Task Manager, no reference found for Foobar while it is really playing audio.
Stopping the audio stream / stopping Foobar play, then the Task Manager shows-up Foobar entry...

Anyway, no crash had. It is still working so... if you need a memory dump, let me know quickly

Tags: Foobar doesn't see the difference between values "ALBUM ARTIST" and ALBUMARTIST.
When adding some value to ALBUMARTIST tag its appended to "ALBUM ARTIST" and ALBUMARTIST stays empty
Tag scheme I use: APE+ID3v1

beta 8, 32-bit, on Linux under wine:
Standard default Tabs "Playlists" and "Properties" are properly colored, according to currently selected colors scheme in View > Layout > Quick setup.
But additional UI Elements "Library" and "Console" do not follow the color scheme.
  • "Console" is always painted with system colors regardless of color scheme currently selected
  • "Library" is even worse: the text obeys current color scheme (font color and background) but the rest of the UI Element background remains unchanged, i.e. only the tree elements are painted as expected, but not the background around the library tree.

Beta 8 32-bit is yet another version that crashes after installation every time I try to start version 2. Again, deleting my playlist folder seems to solve the issue. Crash report has been submitted again.

I'm not suggesting this for everyone but if anyone already uses scripting components like WSH panel mod, Spider Monkey Panel or JScript Panel, they can lock splitters by adding code inside a panel like this...

"Album Art View" not scanning sub-folders for images

Hello, in FB v1.6.x and older I was used to have Album Art View fetching images (like "folder.jpg" and the like) also from any subfolder of the played audio parent directory.

Now, in FB v2 I cannot have this. I tried and re-tried, but no way (for me) to have the subfolder scanned and the wanted images displayed (in my case I am searching for front.jpg and back.jpg.

Does anyone know how to fix my problem?
