Playlist creation will fail if called from an illegal context - ... fb2k shutdown in progress ...
Am I right to assume that this condition won't be triggered until after initquit::on_quit callback is executed?

And another small question:
Can autoplaylist_manager::add_client_simple(p_query, p_sort, p_playlist, p_flags) fail on a newly created playlist?

You mentioned "objective scientific fact" which was my concern.
The p-value (*) does _not_ represent the probability that the listener was randomly guessing, that is the _objective_ _scientific_ _fact_in this case.
Hence the statement is incorrect, misleading and represents a common fallacy, therefore it should be replaced by a correct one.

So, yes, if someone is randomly pressing the buttons then he is guessing, but you don´t know from the p-value; it´s as simple as that.

(*) the p-value is the result of a exact binomial test using the number of correct responses as test statistic. This way the observed data is analyzed under the assumption that the null hypothesis (p = 0.5) is true, it can´t tell you _if_ the null hypothesis is true.
Iow, p(observed data l H0) is not the same as p(H0 l observed data).

AAC - General / Re: Can someone teach me how to compile FDK-AAC to .exe?

It's hard to understand your problem since your post doesn't explain what you are doing exactly. OK, let's do some guessing.
Msys2 have three way of running (or three shells if you wish): MSYS, MINGW32, MINGW64. You should run MINGW32 or MINGW64.
As you can see in my post (you did read my post with long log, right?) I used MINGW32.
Maybe you run MINGW64? Then you should install x64-bit fdk-aac library instead of x32. To do so run

Code: [Select]
pacman -Syu --needed mingw-w64-x86_64-fdk-aac

No, as I said, the developer has real hardware to test. I just want to make sure it can be replicated on real hardware before we bother about it. Highly Advanced certainly wasn't hardware accurate, and if this is a bug, I'm sure Endrift would like to know.

I'm not too familiar with Wilb's script so i can't really comment on that. Foo_uie_library_tree will eat ram if you make a node which has every single file of your library in it if you're talking about libraries the size of a couple hundred thousands files. So if you want to list all your albums under a node, don't include the files in a subnode if you have a gigantic library and don't have ram to spare. Haven't experienced any bugs with foo_uie_library_tree, been using it for a decade.
Audio Hardware / Re: Connecting loudspeakers whatifs...
Last post by knutinh -
Loudspeakers will play just fine if you flip the polarity on both. The polarity from recording studio to playback is essentially like flipping a coin - you will find all kinds of microphones, processing gear, recorders, loudspeakers etc that flip phase, and users are unaffected as long as they dont try to combine them (in parallell) with other gear that does not flip phase.

There is a minority of listeners who claim to be sensitive to absolute phase. I am not aware of controlled experiments that have supported this claim.

There is usually a slight asymmetry in loudspeakers. Sufficient that subwoofer designers will commonly try to mount two low frequency drivers "back to back" in order to suppress such differences.
