Change rating without updating other tags

Thanks so much for the help.
This may sound odd, but I use MP3Tag to tag the files and then Foobar to play and rate them. Is there a way, when I assign a tag for rating a file via Foobar, for it to just not change any other tags (title, artist, etc.)? I mean, it even takes an album where I've made the title of 2 discs of the same album one title (e.g. for a 2 disc set of a RHCP album just Stadium Arcadium) and when I add a rating tag via FB2K, it also changes the album tag to Stadium Arcadium Disc 1. Can I just turn the updating of all the other tags off?
