64 bit floating point

Does anything write 64 bit double floating point wave files? and if they do is the header:

WAVE_FORMAT_IEEE_FLOAT  and the bitspersample= 64

IIRC, libsndfile does. I believe the file is w64.c in the src folder.

Is this format actually usable in commercial programs?

Soundforge seems to write .w64 files, the 64 is not 64 bit float though but rather 64 bit data chunk sizes to overcome the 4GB limit on wave files. I will look to see if that is writing 64 bit doubles.
