How can i convert flac to alac so i can then load them to my ipod?
Are you using musicmusic's foobar ipod component (foo_dop) (http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_dop), or are you using iTunes with a newer iPod?
assuming you just want the conversion done with foobar (i know nothing about transferring to ipods), just down refalac and create your own custom encoder. i found an old post here...

(to start, right click files in playlist>convert>...>output format>add new)
Since you are posting in the foobar2000 forum, you are probably on Windows and already have some good advice above. However, if you are using a Mac to manage your iPod, you could invest $4 in FLACTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flactunes/id517984121), an app for iTunes running on recent versions of OS X that automagically converts dropped FLAC files into ALAC -- all tags and images intact -- and puts them in your iTunes library.
