Xchange v3

Darn. I must have done something wrong? The initial screen has two script error boxes on the left side, top and bottom, and the icon in the sentence "To continue, click this icon <missing icon!> in the top left corner."

I installed foobar2000 0.9.6.6 using the portable installation. extracted components-xchange_v2.zip to the components folder, copied the fonts to the Fonts folder, and extracted xchange into the Foobar2000 folder. The initial screen described above appears right after importing the FCL file.

Any idea what I did or didn't do?

I'm not sure if it matters whether you use the portable installation or the default, but I know the default installation stores configuration files in the %AppData% folder. I'd uninstall and try the default installation, rather than portable.

Also, the xchange images should be in foobar2000\skins\xchange\

I hope that helps.

I think it must be : skins\xchange

C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S Falstaff!!

I'm very happy to see that you accepted some of my 'crazy' ideas, you're the one!!!
It's the best foobar2000 skin ever made!

Let me report some little bug in mini mode, here (tested only in Vista);

And some other suggestions:

. When we add a new 'panel' it will be nice if it appeared right below the panel that we clicked, and not it the end of all (if possible, ofc).
. A new 'preferences' button beside the properties button (or somewhere else);
. A new run services button for youtube xD;
. A new configuration to the Disk icon (clicking on it, it shows the five configurations, like the rating button);
. A track percentage (%) indicator.

And once again, superb work man, thanks a lot!!

I have this as well, only when in columns ui, status bar, show status bar, does this happen. Works normal when this option isn't ticked.

Yup, you're right. It happens only when 'show status bar' is selected. Thanks

Make sure your Xchange folder is in this path, for example. C:\Program Files\foobar2000\skins\xchange

Oh, foobar2000\skins\xchange. I missed that part. I have it in foobar2000\xchange. I'll give it a try right away. Thanks for the quick response.

I made the change. That was the problem. Thanks again.

edit:
I have my artist pictures in the folder that holds the album, not in the album itself.  For example, c:\music\eagles.  How do I change the prefs/tools/covers to reflect that?

evo3, in foo_covers try and add  this:
C:\Music\%artist%\%artist%.jpg
This should display the "Eagles.jpg" if you named the art work something else like artist.jpg then use
C:\Music\%artist%\artist.jpg
Let me know if it worked for you

Yes! Thanks for the info!

Anyone else getting the flicker during play?

@Falstaff

In the graphical browser code, you have

Code: [Select]
$if($stricmp('FOO_LASTFM',$left(%path%,10)),
  $draw_image(2,2,$eval(%gb_width%-2),$eval(%gb_width%-2),$get(kap),255,nokeepaspect)

is $get(kap) a typo?  I don't see it defined anywhere.

I positively LOVE this config! Thanks, Br3tt! I think you should send your portfolio to apple and microsoft so YOU can design their players!!! this blows them out of the water.

Three issues, though:

1) The font on the menu is too dark and contrasts badly (i.e. it's hard to read)

2) The color on my playlist viewer is WHITE!!! It's so ugly; how can I make it look purty?

3) I had to implement the fix stated on post #5. Is this normal?]

PS: Is it possible to have 2 panels take half the screen and one panel take up the other half?

Love it, keep up the good work.

I just can't figure out how to change the sort options to make the list by "album artist - descending year date - other fields..." instead of "album artist - ascending year date - other fields..."

I'm tried to look at settings, but I'm new to foobar.
Do I need to change this line?

Sort format:
%album artist% -  $if(%album%,%date%) - %album% - %discnumber% - %tracknumber% - %title%

I'm just not sure how to change date to desc (am I meant to use SORT DESCENDING BY or something?) or if it's even the right field.

How to display rating based on playcount (in the ELPlaylist and the panel stack splitter) ?

I am having a problem and wonder if anyone can help me.

I have saved two config settings as explained in the help pfd.

My config has alway's a maximized window. However when I load a saved Xchange v2 my window is not maximized anymore. See here:

Does anyone know what to do with this?

Same problem for me,
I maximize the foobar window and save the config, then when choosing that config the window is not maximized like when it was saved.
Hope Falstaff can help us solve this.

@Hawk:

Maximizing a window do not really change its size (widthxheight) so Xc just put in memory the window size before the maximize is applied.

so, for what i've coded, it's a normal behaviour, maximized state is not handled, not sure i can do something about that, i'll see.

EDIT: a solution for those who use Maximized state may be to add an option in settings to disable the memory of the window size (no more save, so no more call back)

thank you for answering

here the screenchot for the font problem (I saw in settings 12,maybe to lower ? )

...

your problem is just that you haven't the font BigNoodleTitling installed on your system, just install properly (fonts are stored in C:\windows\fonts\)

First of all, quart of a beer for you sir for the most impressive foobar customization
Second  thing, I would like to put a request - when component' tabs don't fit the narrow window, to put them in to a additional rows (imho two would be enough), or even move to side bar.
...

extremely good idea, and btw easy to do ... next build will have this, for sure

Is there a possibility to change columns width?

I absolutely love this config!

I have a couple suggestions / bug fixes:

On Windows Vista at 1280 x 800, I have a small bug in the window positioning. Here's how to reproduce: Change to full mode, maximize, change to mini mode, change back to full. When the window changes back to full mode, the window size and position are a bit off.

Thanks for the tooltip fix - the channel spectrum vis no longer hangs while seeking, but I think I found another similar bug. While scrolling the El Playlist (a somewhat long playlist - perhaps 500 tracks), the channel spectrum and seekbar both hang.

[EDIT]: Also, a question about the search buttons: How do I change the text sent to wikipedia? I'd like to append the string "(band)", so that a search for Boston doesn't return the city, for example.

Thanks again for all your work!!!

Regarding the window size, I commented out the variables, but the procedure I quoted from my earlier post still causes the window to resize incorrectly -- the bottom and right portions of the player appear off - screen.

Here's before:

That's how it looks on my PC as well. The player appears off - screen but on my PC it is on the left side. Every time I have to drag it back to center.
It takes the fun out of loading a saved pre-set.

like said previously, an option to disable the window size memory will fix this pb.
