Create cue sheet from EAC log

Can I somehow create a cue sheet from a v1.0 EAC log extraction file?

This thread belongs in General Audio, not Lossless.

You can derive a cue sheet from a rip log, but it will only be correct if the following conditions are met:
  • The original CD either has no gaps (index 00 sections), or it does have gaps which were manually detected before ripping (F4)
  • The original CD has no indexes greater than 01 (in my collection, this is 2 or 3 out of ~1000 CDs)
  • The original CD has no MCN, ISRCs, copyright flags, pre-emphasis flags, or CD-Text data (most CDs have the first two, at least)

Why not just stick the disc back in the drive and have EAC generate a cue sheet from it?

Unless, of course, you never had the original CD.

Edit: This probably belongs in CD Hardware/Software.

Edit a copy of the EAC v1.0 log to make it resemble a v.99 log. I'm guessing you probably have one on hand somewhere. From thence you would proceed to the aforementioned site linked by HotShot FR and do your thing. (It wouldn't be as difficult to do this as it sound...just open both in your text editor. Use the Log to Cue option with current gaps as the setting on the EAC Helper.)

BTW, people here are pretty judgmental about P2P and such as you can see.  That should work out for you though. If you need any other help don't be afraid to ask (me, if no one else here.)
The Loudness War is over. Now it's a hopeless occupation.

It was down for a while, but is back, as of a few hours ago.

The admin told me it was just down due to technical difficulties; his ISP had botched some "maintenance".

I am curious for knowledge...
Could you please explain to me, and anyone else reading this thread, what is the difference between 1.0 and 0.9 cue sheets?
One cue sheet is more "compliant" than the other with regards to what ...a particular program? ...a particular specification?
Are these facts documented anywhere?
Thankyou.

Unless, of course, you have to live for a few months/years some 1000 miles from your original CDs.

That's quite off-topic, anyway - and on the wrong forum category, agreed

They said log, not cue sheet. Presumably the utility only works with the older version’s log files.

Googling cue specification is a fair start. Oft-cited is the CDRWIN version, since it pioneered the format. Specifically, declared tracks are not supposed to comprise audio from more than one file, as occurs in “noncompliant” cue sheets where the pregap (INDEX 00) of one track is taken from the file of the one prior.

Create cue sheet from EAC log

     > "Edit a copy of the EAC v1.0 log to make it resemble a v.99 log"

I am curious for knowledge...
Could you please explain to me, and anyone else reading this thread, what is the difference between 1.0 and 0.9 cue sheets?
One cue sheet is more "compliant" than the other with regards to what ...a particular program? ...a particular specification?
Are these facts documented anywhere?
Thankyou.
I don't know why this hasn't been answered, but for the sake of FYI and google searches (how I found this thread) it is two simple steps.  This assumes that one analyzed for pre-gaps (F4) before ripping.  First, one replaces the first line with the appropriate EAC version recognized by http://eachelper.host56.com/convloghtml.php:

Code: [Select]
Exact Audio Copy V1.1 from 23. June 2015

to
Code: [Select]
Exact Audio Copy V0.99 prebeta 4 from 23. January 2008

Second, with new EAC logs, if one has CUETools plugins installed, there will be additional information after the line "End of status report".  Simply delete everything after "End of status report".  After performing these two steps, the 1.0+ log will now be compatible with the log2cue converter.

I tested it out with one of my recent CD rips and the accuraterip logs from CUETools both old and new (edited) cues.

Is the source code for cue corrector available anywhere?

And an English version of the website...
Thanks

By now you could also consider CUETools [edit: if your point is to get .cue out of an EAC log as per topic title]. Source code on github.

How is this done using CUETools exactly? Every time I try to use the "Create CUE sheet" option, I get a cue sheet that doesn't replicate the gaps correctly at all. The CUETools cue sheet has only INDEX 01 entries and no INDEX 00 entries. Furthermore, it doesn't have the CD-TEXT fields!! I suppose I don't understand how to load an EAC log into CUETools...

But this info is not in the EAC log at all, uh?

Besides possibly before the first track, CT won't include 00 index information present in a log file, unless I'm recalling incorrectly. CD-TEXT information is not available in a log file, however.

All that said, what's the point in maintaining 00 index data?  Does anyone burn CDs anymore?  It seems like it's been a decade since I've even thought about this.

As for CD-TEXT, is it common?  How useful is it when CT can pull far better information from an online database. Just feed it the generic cue sheet when encoding.

A very few albums have bonus tracks in pregaps of tracks other than 1 - but I don't even know any software media player solution that handles that the way a CD player does, so ...

Data as in sub-channel as opposed to the audio data which is a different issue from that which is being asked.

Nobody is talking about the audio, of course. Index points as (sub-)song boundaries OTOH:
Look at this CD. The bonus track is track 9 index 0.
