Suggestion - Spek as an element or plugin.

Hello,

I wanted to mention, It'd be nice to have a full song spectrum rendered in one of the interface elements the way Spek does it.

I understand it would require Foobar devs to reach out to Spek creators.

It's a functional upgrade to the program, nevertheless. You play a song and up draws its complete spectrum, somewhat notifying you, if it's lossless or not (yeah, I know it's not definitive, but very helpful).

Please consider.

Thank you,

N.

ffmpeg can also generate those images and I have a component/script that automates the creation as new tracks are played. But the use case is slightly different - I disable the legend and use it as the background for a seekbar.

I don't know if that would be required as it is free, open-source software.  BTW the 0.8.5 version in 64-bit is now available in Windows binaries both as a Portable and a *.msi install package (https://github.com/alexkay/spek/releases).  Been using it as a simple foo_run shortcut call from the Foobar context menu.

I think I prefer marc2k3's solution, albeit small to my eye. Don't mind ffmpeg, already using it anyway. I am using the Waveform Minibar seek-bar, but it doesn't really do much other than look cool. Some waveform is displayed, but that's about it.

I'll post the image of my current layout. Ideally, at the bottom, where the Spectrum is would be enough of a space to render that image from Spek.

I don't think I want to call the shortcut on every song, but it is a neat solution for the occasional check.

PS. No clue how long PasteBoard hosts these images:
