CD is MINT but EAC can't rip for the life of me

Today I acquired a truly MINT copy of Cocteau Twins' Blue Bell Knoll.
The disc has no marks or scratches, and plays fine in computer and in Blu-Ray player.
I can't return this CD since it plays perfectly, no audio glitches, nothing nothing nothing.
However, for the life of me I can't rip this CD without too many timing issues and suspicious positions - including the following configurations:

- Drive 1 - Secure Mode / Accurate Stream / CRC 2 Errors On / No cache Audio Data - Speed Current - Offset +48
- Drive 1 - Burst Mode - Speed 4.0x - Offset +48
- Drive 2 - Secure Mode / Accurate Stream / CRC 2 Errors On / Defeats Cache Audio Data - Speed Current - Offset +6
- Drive 2 - Burst Mode - Speed 10.0x - Offset +6

None of the following options can render a quality rip. The CD itself is like a mirror. No one single spot. No rots.

First question:
Is this CD rot anyway throughout the tracks and that's why is being difficult for EAC?

Second question:
Can I download a copy over the internet, as long it is exactly the same pressing and hold that as a download?
The matrix are the same, everything is identical to what I have found. All CD identifiers.
(NBs: In my country it is legal to rip CDs and have safeguard copies of genuine purchased products).

Third question:
Is there a way to fix my rip, using the Accurate Rip downloaded rip?

Thank you!

Have you listened to the rip? I've had discs show errors but the rip still played back OK.

Yes, the rip plays absolutely fine, with no glitches.
I'm attaching the EAC log, just in case.

If it sounds OK, my advice is to try and forget about it.   I've had a few discs with reported errors that sounded fine, and at this point I don't even remember which discs they were.

It's "nice" to get an AccurateRip confirmation and it saves you from having to listen carefully for "quality control" purposes, but it's not necessary for music enjoyment.  ;)

It may be a manufacturing defect.   You can't see the pits that form the data and you can easily have a few bad bits/bytes without seeing anything wrong.

Also, the data is on the top/label side and the CD is read through the full-thickness of the polycarbonate.   That means it can be damaged from either side, but it's easier to damage it from the top, and it's often harder to see scratches on the top.

Do what DVDdoug said, ignore the rip log.

OTOH I have a few CD's that rip perfectly but will not play in any of the dvd's or CD players I own, go figure eh?

What setting do you use in EAC > EAC Options > Extraction > "Error recovery quality" ?

Over the years, I had a few CDs that required the "high" setting for producing accurate rips.
Admittedly, those discs had scratched surfaces, but maybe your settings lead to EAC "giving up" too early ?

[edit]
I just noticed, you ripped the CD in burst mode, how does the log file look like in secure mode ?

CUETools has some option like this using its own database. I use CUERipper for all my rips.

In "Option Like This" you mean, to use CueTools to fix the rip?
I was able to recover some rips but only when they "Differ". Never when a match was "not found".
Perhaps I still need to try some further settings... or even the CUERipper itself.

I have Paul McCartney's Flowers in the Dirt UK First Press, and it's MINT as a mirror. The CD gets a AccurateRip (it does a error correction on the last track though), but in Blu-Ray player, "Motor of Love" skips. So same thing here...

The othe funny thing is that I have had a Copy Protected CD which I was not able to even start ripping with Optiarc and Lite-On drives, but a crap Matsushita notebook drive was able to rip the thing flawlessly and get a AccurateRip!
So I am going to take a shot on this Matsushita again...

5 rows.
Did with Secure Mode with 2 drives.
I think to try ripping in this mode, I can expect 24 hours in one drive, and 48 in the other drive... just to see...

What DVDDoug points out is acceptable. I just got this frustration thought. The disc is looking so MINT that I can't believe I can't rip it. Sometimes we get too paranoid and it hinders our music enjoyment. I may or may not getting another copy, I'm thinking...

I'll post any news if I can get something right here.
Thank you!

EDIT:
Investigating further, seems like DVD Doug hit the nail.
Take a look on these 2 subtle etches from CD manufacturing, on CD label side.

Got to rip the first 2 tracks accurately in CUERipper.
The rest of the tracks can't rip without errors.
I just ordered a US/Capitol version of this CD.  >:(

Well, as I have plenty time today, I am trying CUERipper again in Paranoid Mode.
I think it will get me "partial" matches and will be able to "fix it".
I must say I'm thinking about dropping EAC in favour of this little app.

Do a couple of rips (maybe in different modes) and do a bit comparison of them. If they differ then you do get bad rips. If they match then there is a chance that they actually rip fine (although it is possible that errors are consistent...)

(although it is possible that errors are consistent...)

If it is a batch of CDs with some consistent pressing error, then there might not be any "correct" way to rip it either. Different drives will make the best out if it in different ways, possibly consistent per drive, but the best outcome is not a "correct" rip, it is a "no audible issues" rip.

For those cases, an AccurateRip match will tell you that someone else "ripped the same CD with the same drive", which of course guards against "per disc"-idiosyncracies ...

Hi folks,

Well, I tried.
I have a Lite-On and an Optiarc drive.
Also tried a notebook Matsushita for that matter.
None of the tracks can't be ripped in any mode, with any configuration changes.
The only luck I got was with CUERipper getting the first two AccuratelyRipped, reported a few messages before.

Analyzing the reading surface of the CD against a bright light, I can see some "blurring" on the chemical layer.
Perhaps this is the problem.

Disc is unrippable with C2 errors turned off.
In any mode. From Secure to Burst. Can't be ripped Accurately.
