WMA pro streaming playback

I've been searching for an alternative to windows media player 9 for playback of wma pro streams.  My biggest gripe with wmp9 is that it only supports directsound output and my soundcard (Aardark 24/96) does not have very solid directsound drivers. I've found plenty of players that playback wma pro files...but can't seem to connect to a wma pro stream. Any ideas?

Edit : stream info: Windows Media Audio 9 Professional
128 kbps, 44 kHz, 2 channel 24 bit 1-pass CBR  (24bit?..playing back on a 16bit system) I like this better then ogg streaming @ 128k so far, hopefully there is something better the WMP for playback of this stream.
