has to be something with your computer, but 0.9.6 works just fine with foo_menu_addons. Maybe runtimes need updating or your hardware isn't SSE. Either way it does work with 0.9.6.

He Falstaff,
thanks for your update...!

Maybe you are interested in my update, too. I've implemented some additional stuff into your most recent elPlaylist:
- nice popups for Album and Tracks
- Single/Album view: you can change sorting/grouping. So for the library the standard album-grouping makes sense, but for other playlists like history or random temp playlist a simple list of the songs without headers may make more sense.
- integration of "Comment"-Tag: some people like me tag single B-sides or rarities in the comment-tag. The info is then shown in the playlist and in the popups. Additionaly you can choose to show the specific embedded album art in the playlist.
- History playlist view with "last played" information (used with the foo_navigator plugin)

Everything is totally optional, you can switch features on or off in the standard elPlaylist setting without searching through the code. Feel free to integrate the stuff in your next release
Download and import.

Version 1.2a has some problems with the images, etc. The './' for foo_path doesn't seem to work flawlessly. I don't know whether it's because I've installed foobar as "portable".. do I have to set any system variables? The weird thing is that some images are shown and some are not..

@tedgo thx for code,    i am not good enough in script language, i've been trying to insert with modified paths -it is not showing any dedicated pictures when streaming.
Br3tt could You PLEASE make it (streaming.jpg as album art) working in the next version? I hope i am not the only one who is using radio streaming in foobar. for You it is only a few lines of code - for me a black magic...

... Add it if u can.

Some fucntion in mini mod can remove: ALB, ART AVS and '...' buttons

Can u make bottom panel like a rectangle? I don't like the curve in a config with all-90*-corners

Sorry for my bad English

I love your config. BTW!!!

I still can't figure out how to edit the color of the text in the group (like in the pic at the top-the aqua-ish font) and also the extra info in the groups. (Exactly like the post above mine.

Select tag 'field definition', you will see line: TXT_COLOR_GROUP, double click and change your color (RGB).

You can use MS Paint to select color you want.

Hey Br3tt, or anyone else,

I do not allow the lyrics plugin to automatically tag my files, instead I have it save them as a LRC file (named in the format of %artist% - %filename%.lrc).  I have tried to change the ELP settings so that it will show the lyric icon when a song has the accompanying LRC file, but I haven't gotten it to work.  Anyone else try this?  I tried to modify the $or statement to include a $replace function similar to the ones used for artwork.  But it hasn't worked.  Not sure if fb2k or the plugin can look for LRC files like it can image files.

Thanks.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

I've only noticed a couple things that don't seem to work right.  I'm using a fresh 0.9.6 install following all your directions in the install setup document (and I read the overview document).  By the way, if I recall correctly, you didn't mention the required fonts at all in the install documentation.  Anyway:

1.  I actually have a series of discs that goes in to double digits.  I noticed that when displaying the disc number in the playlist, it only shows one digit for the current disc, but two digits for the number of total discs.  Therefore, if you have a ten disc set, the tenth disc, for example, will show up as "(Disc 0/10)" rather than "(Disc 10/10)".  I only have one set like this, so it doesn't really bother me.

2.  The Preferences button doesn't seem to work for me at all.  In fact, it crashes (but restarts) the foobar2000.exe application entirely.  Also, CTRL+P doesn't work when I initially start foobar.  It gives me a windows "exclaimation" sound but does nothing.  However, after I click somewhere (anywhere) within the program (other than the title bar) CTRL+P works and continues to work until I restart foobar.

3.  The two google buttons in the top right don't seem to do anything.  How exactly do these work?  I guessed that they would open my default browser, but perhaps they try to download album/artist art and put it in the currently playing track's folder?  If so, that would explain why it doesn't work, as I already have all that art in place?

4.  Is there any way for me to have the playlist disregard "The" in an artist's name?  It would be much easier to use the handy letter buttons at the top for quick searching.  As it stands, there are a slew of artists in the "T's" because of this.

All in all, this is a very complete, functional, and visually pleasing config.  Greatly appreciated!

I guess there is a $num(blabla,1) somewhere in the code. Just change 1 to 2...?

I guess the Ctrl-P behaviour is normal at least for panel stack splitter plugin.. something has to be active that the program knows the hotkey is hit.

They just open the browser and put the correct google URL in the adress bar, that's it. Read the curacao install instructions -> you have to setup up the "Run Services" for making the buttons work.

Search this thread and you will find the solution. You have to replace the "%album artist%" by some code that was posted some paged before.

Right-click anywhere in the playlist (on the album header or a song) and select "Settings".  Go to the "Group Header" tab, and in the field box look for the "Text Properties" portion.

The Ctrl-P shortcut is not set as a Global, which would allow you to use it when unfocused.  You could change it to a Global, BUT if you do, make sure it doesn't conflict with a normal Windows command.  Shortcuts are in the Preferences.

I'm using this string for ELP also

Code: [Select]
$if($strcmp($left(%album artist%,4),The ),$right(%album artist%,$sub($len(%album artist%),4))', 'The,%album artist%)

But if I put this in the code for the GB (at the top of ELP) I only get the letter for the first "The" band and all of these bands will be selectedt at once.

Does anybody know how to do?

Edit: I made it. I have forgotten the grouping there. Sorry for posting before thinking.

Hello,
First of all, I'd like to thank you for this great theme you made. I want to ask a question, I'm new at this foobar-plugin thing so I hope you forgive me because of my ignorance. Nearly all of my albums have an original cover, when I select a song from an album with cover, cover appears on the background. That's a cool feature, but I felt like the background is better with no cover (grey). I searched an option for that but couldn't find it. I don't want my covers to appear on the background. Is there anyway to disable this feature?

Thanks.

I won't even pretend to know where to find this.

This makes sense.  I was also under the impression that the button above the playback time and vis spectrum was supposed to bring up foobar's preferences, but from reading more of this post I gather that it is indeed supposed to restart foobar.  This must serve some purpose to Br3tt and others that I can't understand.

They just open the browser and put the correct google URL in the adress bar, that's it. Read the curacao install instructions -> you have to setup up the "Run Services" for making the buttons work.

Thanks again.  I re-read, and found the info not in the install instructions, but in the overview document.  Both of them are a little out of date, but useable.  Not to complain.  None of this is coming to me as a right, after all, but a privilege.  Thanks, again, Br3tt!

You know, I found the posts you were talking about.  Specifically, kockroach's.  I tried this, but it still wasn't working quite right as far as I could tell.  All artists preceeded by "The" were indeed changed to their name followed by a comma and "The".  And they were indeed sorted properly in the playlist view.
However, the letters at the top didn't work quite right.  For example, the first artist with a "The" in my library is "The Adolescents".  They were resorted in the playlist view with the "A's" and the "The" at the end of their name, but clicking on "A" in the letters at the top highlighted all "A" artists in the playlist except for the ones that normally start with "The" such as "The Adolescents".
What's more, the letter T at the top was replaced with the first letter (alphabetically) of the first "The" artist in the list.  In this example, it was "A" for "Adolescents, The".  Clicking that letter highlighted every "The" artist in the list regardless of their physical location.
I'm 99% sure that I put the code that kockroach posted in all the proper areas that people mentioned.  However, because others are reporting that it works, I'm assuming I missed something.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone would take the time to list each location that I need to post the "The" omission code to properly sort my playlists (and graphical browser, and wherever else it would be pertinent).

Also, Onkel Andy, I downloaded and imported (through the import button in the ELPlaylist settings) your playlist sorting and popup settings.  Nice work!  There are only two problems I'm having that maybe you can help resolve.

1.  The playlist now seems to scroll at far fewer lines at a time than it did before.  Is there a way I can increase this, as I like the idea of hiding the scroll bar.

2.  The popups aren't quite displaying as you intended them to.  See the images below:
Album Popup
Track Popup

Thanks again for everyone's help, and especially to Br3tt for sharing his creation!

I have already mentioned all of the places you would need to put that code within this thread.  They aren't all in the same place, because some of it was figured out at different times.  Just pull up all of my posts in this thread, and you should find everything.  It isn't worthwhile to write it again.  It will also take care of the Alphabetical list at the top too.

And just a quick note.  Don't use the code for the actual grouping in the playlist.  Only the sorting.  If you do it in the grouping, you get the ", The" problem you mention.

  • right click on browser / settings - for the first letter browser on top
  • Group - replace in 2 places %album artist% with $stripprefix(%album artist%) - at the begining of the string

  • right click on browser / settings - for the artist browser on bottom
  • Sort - replace %album artist% with $stripprefix(%album artist%) - at the begining of the string
  • right click on browser / settings - for the album browser on bottom
  • Sort - replace %album artist% with $stripprefix(%album artist%) - at the begining of the string
  • right click on playlist / settings / grouping tab
  • Sort format - replace %album artist% with $stripprefix(%album artist%) - at the begining of the string
  • Foobar properties
  • replace %album artist% with $stripprefix(%album artist%) - on these places:
  • Columns UI / Filter tab / Sort Incoming Files By
  • General / Sort Incoming Files By

Hi Br3tt,
I love curacao, surely your masterpiece.
The only thing I miss, is the option "Highlight in Playlist". Normally I doubleclick on statusbar to go to the actually played song, but I don't have statusbar in your config.
Can you integrate this feature in curacao? Maybe a button? Or a full contextmenu in layout with big cover, like right-click on lyrics-panel in layout with small cover?
I hope u understand.

Hey Br3tt,

Really loving your new setup here.

One thing I'm slightly curious about though.  Is it possible to get the default wallpaper in /images/curacao/bg/ to display instead of cd covers or nothing, but not display instead of artist photos?

I checked your video and saw how to make it display all the time, but when there is no cd cover in the background the setup simply displays a grey background rather than the wallpaper.  Perhaps I missed something, but it'd be nice to be able to use that instead of the CD cover in the background or just the grey background.

Hopefully that makes sense.

You are right, without the scroll bar that's annoying. Just go to style and change scrollbar from 1 to 0

2.  The popups aren't quite displaying as you intended them to.  See the images below:
Album Popup
Track Popup

Actually, I'm not quite sure why br3tt made the popup background like that  The problem is that the transparent parts of the png just aren't displayed correctly in elPlaylist. You can use the "enable color key" and set the correct grey color to be keyed under "misc"-tab. But I'd advise to crop the picture in any photo editing tool and maybe make the round corners straight to make it look fine.

I've provided the optimized popup-background and optimized elPlaylist config (two-digit discnumber, group/sort artists with "The" and standard scrolling on my server. Just download it and put the image in the images/curacao/bg-folder.

By the way: I've implemented the same sorting- and grouping-logic as with "The.." with "DIE". As you seem to speak german this could make sense. Changes "Die Toten Hosen" to "Toten Hosen, Die"  You have to apply this code in the alphabetical panel at the top:
Code: [Select]
$if($strcmp($left(%album artist%,4),The ),$right(%album artist%,$sub($len(%album artist%),4))', 'The,$if($strcmp($left(%album artist%,4),Die ),$right(%album artist%,$sub($len(%album artist%),4))', 'Die,%album artist%))

To make it easier I have also implemented the complete columnsUI-config, but u may have to install some additional plugins like bookmarks, etc. to make it load..
