Need info. Confused about the 2 original versions of Dr. Dre's "California Love"

Both versions run about 6:25-6:30 in length.

Is the version with only Dre rapping only on the original 12" promo release, or was it never released at all?
Is the full length version with Dre & 2pac rapping on the normal 12" release, and the 12" promo?

I tried checking all the 12" releases on discogs but none of them say anything about a Dre only release.
Wikipedia claims the 'Dre only' release is only on the promo, but the youtube video with only Dre rapping says it was never released at all, so there's conflicting information there.
Anyone knowledgeable about this?
