Title: AC3-encoding messes my sound up...
Post by: TapeTV on 2008-02-10 11:47:09
I've run into weird behaviors with Apple's Compressor doing it's Dolby Digital trick.
As described in length in this tread (http://duc.digidesign.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1239192&page=0&view=&sb=5&o=&fpart=all&vc=1) on the Digidesign User Conference (sorry for cross-posting).
I'm really trying to figure out what makes the encoder change the sound this dramatically. And I'm not talking just about the difference between DTS and AC3 because that's obvious beyond a need for explanation. I'm hoping some of you experts here can point me in the right direction, or to a place to post this.
Would it be sensible to try encode it with a different encoder to see if this behavior persists?
What would you recommend? (Mac or PC)
