I stumbled on something strange today : CD-Extra data track length 954394:45:21
It didn't affect my verification at all, it's just for the report (CD is Lauryn Hill - 2002 - MTV Unplugged No. 2.0 CD2).

Code: [Select]

Here is something that has been driving me crazy. I am using FLAC 1.3.1 in CUETools 2.1.5. For some truly bizarre reason, the FLAC tag, when viewed under "Properties" in foobar2000, does NOT show the md5 checksum.

These are the settings I have:

Code: [Select]
Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\flac-1.3.1-win\win64\flac.exe

Parameters: -%M - -8 -V

Modes: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

Name: FLAC 1.3.1

What would cause this tag behavior? I thought that FLAC tags under "Properties" always displayed the md5 checksum by default. I cannot find any command in any documentation online that addresses this issue. In fact, I am unsure how I arrived at the parameters I listed above. (I might have gleaned it from this very thread, about 90 or 100 pages back.) If anyone can suggest a more optimal parameter setting I would  most appreciative.

CUETools 2.1.6 includes libFLAC 1.3.1 (Changelog)
Verify can be turned on in Advanced Settings. (click the gear icon under Audio Output after you select libFLAC)

How stable is 2.1.6? 2.1.5 is still listed as the latest stable version, even according to this thread. Is there any downside to using 2.1.6 now?

Stable (so far). Only a few minor changes since the version bump. Any future changes may require additional testing.

Installed 2.1.6 and everything is now properly working as it should. Thanks, korth.

I still am puzzled as to why I was getting that checksum bug when using flac.exe in CUETools 2.1.5, particularly when it displays the checksum in the tag properly when I use it to convert in foobar2000. As I stated previously, the FLAC site does not list any command(s) to enable or disable the md5 display, so I cannot imagine how it can be my parameter settings, but whatever. Life is too short to worry about it when I no longer have to.

If you want to try the flac.exe again
Code: [Select]
Parameters: -%M -V - -o %O
Modes: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
and set the slider to 8
or
Code: [Select]
Parameters: -8 -V - -o %O
Modes:
and not use the slider at all

That's the solution! Thanks! The FLAC parameters for CUETools sure are confusing. is there a webpage that clearly explains them??

Hi, I've just started using cue tools to split up all my albums currently ripped to a single flac image with a cue sheet.  Sometimes after a conversion is finished I get an error that says "Exception: The process cannot access the file [filepath] because it is being used by another process."

Any clue why this is? It doesn't seem to affect the file quality of the named file. Thanks!

Just realized I didn't include necessary details.  Using CueTools 2.1.5 on a Win 10 PC.  Let me know if there is a log or other info needed to properly diagnose.

I am trying to split a 32bit/192kHz .wv file and keep getting a "Exception: Audio format is not Red Book PCM." error.

Please add support.

Anyone know of a good alternative to CUETools for HD audio?

Were you able to split HD audio?

A minor nuissance that is most certainly known:
Entering a minus sign in the offset box does not work unless some nonzero number are written first. Quite often I find it resetting because I mark 0 and start typing.

Is there any reason why CUETools continues to verify tracks even if they are not in any database?

I can imagine several reasons.
It checks if the files decode at all.
It checks if the files end on frame boundaries so you may decide there is something wrong.
It checks against the local log.
It creates a log with crcs you can check against an existing log manualy if its format is not recognized by CUEtools.
etc.

With 24bit music you can listen to silence much louder!

Any chance that we could see an updated version of CUETools with FLAC 1.3.2 & WavPack v5.1.0 or?

In due time :) with flac I don't see it as very urgent because there is a built-in encoder that is arguably better. Also I'm on vacation
CUETools 2.1.6

I tried googling and finding out myself, but couldn't figure it out. Any way to fix CUERipper making the filenames and replacing ' s with ' ? Filenames look like "You Ain't Got Nuthin" when it should be "You Ain't Got Nuthin"
