As the description says, will it be updated? I often use it to record old tapes to wav but I don't have that option with 0.8.

The message on Case's page doesn't look too good for me.  I need this but i don't want to be stuck with FB2K 0.77 for ever.

foo_record is still working with 0.8b10 at my place. And regarding this from 0.8 changelog:

0.8:
- almost all components starting from some 0.7 beta SDK still work, though recompilation with new SDK is recommended to take advantage of new features
it probably still will for some time to come....

  So what's the actual problem?

I think it uses the legacy (0.7) diskwriters, and  it won't show wav in the format options.

You are right. But you can record to lossless (APE & FLAC supported, others trough CLI encoder) and then decode to wav ... seems to be only option.

Stop press! You can record to PCM wave trough:
Legacy 0.7 output support: Nero encoder

And if Case don't update foo_record he probably won't update foo_nero either, which will keep this option open for some time to come.....

Ok. Problem solved. After installing these, there showed up a new record under components menu that utilizes 0.8 diskwriters. If you also keep Case's foo_record (still to be found here, among other useful components) you should now have two different recorders, one for 0.7 and one for 0.8 diskwriters.... Interface of new recorder is a little primitive, but it works...
