Media library

I have my media library set up really well with album list so that when I put songs into my music folder it automatically goes to foobar. This is absolutely grand, except for one thing:

It makes it extremely hard to track down what the newest files added to my playlist are. I have to keep the .rars behind to remind myself exactly what bands I just added to the playlist, or else I'll never be able to remember and they'll just be lost into the abyss that is my music folder!

Is there any way to make some sort of Sort option for it to sort my Album List in such a way that it'll show the latest files added to the music library?

Download the playback statistics component.
Along with other fields, it will track the files date added to the media library.
You can then use a query, or an autoplaylist, or add field to a column or other to help you.

Thanks, that helped! However, it shows everything in my media library rather than JUST the files I have added to it in the last 24 hours (I set it to show files added in the last day rather than year)

For more specific help, you need to try and give more detailed information.

Where are you viewing these files?

You changed a query / filter string to the last 24 hours. Is it correct? You might want to cut and paste here.
Where are you using the above? Building a playlist, the filter box of the Album List, the media library search etc.

And possibly the most important piece of info is: If you have, say x number of music files, and install the component right NOW, all your files will have been installed - from the components point of view NOW.

As in: now = the last 24 hours. The component will not know what you have done temporary during times it was not active.

hope this helps

Ahh, I think I understand what you are saying. The component was just installed recently, so it doesn't know that I added files in a certain time before it was installed!

My main goal was to set up the Filter box of the Album List to include something that just showed the bands I recently added in whatever time frame I specified. E.g. in the last 24 hours. I made the "Show Recently Added" menu say this:

%added% DURING LAST DAY SORT DESCENDING BY %added%

It's exactly what I want, however it is showing my entire media library instead of just the files I have added in the last day. I think it is because of what you said though, because I just installed the component.

Yep. Give is a day or so.

Also, give some thought to using Library > Playback Statistics > Show recently added.
Set your last day query there and hit the ... button.
You can make an autoplaylis that will adjust itself and always be present [if you are set to show multiple playlists in tabs]

Extra benefit is that you can stop always having to type your filter in the album list filter box and you can keep the album list
as a 'view' of you entire library.
