Title: FLAC to ALAC: how to verify if all is ok?
Post by: Antigen on 2012-06-15 20:00:03
Hi to all,

I have ripped my CD collection to FLAC with XLD and now I want to create a copy of my digital file to ALAC.

From FLAC to ALAC i don't lost nothing in quality?

Ho to verify if the transcoding from FLAC to ALAC is make 1:1 and 100 % identic in quality?

Thanks very much!

Of course you will not lose quality: both are lossless formats.

You could verify this, if you must, using for example foobar2000 and its audio MD5 (in Properties) and/or bit-comparing (select two files; right-click) features, or any other application that can compare audio streams.

Or you could just trust the thousands of other users, and possibly the hundreds of past threads, about similar questions.
