3rd Party Plugins - (fb2k) / Re: Spotify Integration (foo_spotify)
Last post by asdfasdf64 - ...

Yeah understandably OP probably has other stuff going on these days, and of course his work is greatly appreciated - I've been using this plugin extensively every day since I first tried it out. Luckily for us he chose to leave it open so I'm just wondering what the effort would be to drop in librespot vs a total rebuild. TheQwertiest, if you end up stopping by, could you provide any info about the problems with librespot on windows?

This whole desktop player ecosystem is sort of a ghost town these days in favor of various flavors of chromium. Think if we hold on a little longer the cycle will come back around? I sure hope so.

I wonder if librespot can be dropped in as a replacement without too much rewriting shows that there wasn't much interest to pursue that path 18 months ago, and is not a case that the project is very active in development. There are some other plugin projects in github, but almost all of them inactive for years.
Support - (fb2k) / If fb2k doesn't exit cleanly, all playlists since last clean exit are lost.

I tend to have a lot of playlist tabs open but don't explicitly save them at any regular frequency. One thing I've noticed as I developed this habit is that all of the playlists that were created since the last clean fb2k exit seem to vanish. This also applies for playback state. Is this something that comes up often, or is it maybe specific to my setup? Either way, is this conceivably something that could be handled by the plugin api?
General - (fb2k) / Re: runtime folder
Last post by Case -
The runtime directory contains Universal C Runtime. It is bundled in Windows 10 and newer and can be downloaded and installed manually on older OSes.

The player uses a manifest trick to load the dlls from the subdirectory. We wanted to do it this way instead of spamming the main install dir with dozens of extra files. I recall the manifest trick caused a failure to launch the program if the runtime files were missing from the specified directory. That is why it is always extracted even on OSes where it's built-in. But it seems to work fine now at least with the latest OS version.

What is the purpose of the runtime folder, I have some foobar2000 installation directories that can be started normally after deleting it, but some cannot be started after deleting it.
Which Microsoft runtime library does the runtime folder correspond to? Can I install it separately? windows11 operating system.
