I've just uploaded a new version of MPC Batch Encoder. It's a Windows frontend for the MPC encoder and decoder. Not for taggers! Link: http://home.wanadoo.nl/~w.speek/batch_encoder.htm (http://home.wanadoo.nl/~w.speek/batch_encoder.htm)
Thanks speek. I love the simplicity and flexibility of your frontends!

Great frontend speek, thanks!!
But..... hehe
Could it be possible to make some kind of log-file in a txt?
Whould like that.
Havn't really tried it yet but I assume that it opens a window pr. file.
Could that be made an option to have it in one window?
Easy making log then I guess.

Yes, that would be nice. But I don't know how to do that! I will ask around and see if I can find out. If anyone has ideas about this, please let me know.
BTW. all files are encoded in one DOS window.
does this frontend works with FrankĀ“s encoder?
Yes!

I thought now that the mpc encoder supports LPAC and FLAC I would be nice to encode directly (from LPAC and FLAC) using your frontend.
Jan.
Well, I tried encoding a flac file, but the encoder gives this message:
MP+/MPC Encoder 0.90k --ALPHA VERSION-- © 1999-2001 Buschmann/Klemm/Piecha
'flac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
ERROR: 'RIFF' not found in WAV-header!
ERROR: Invalid file header, not a WAVE file 'D:TestgeluidenDaughter.flac'
On Frank's website it says that the new encoder does eat flac and lpac files, so I don't know what's wrong. If you have a look at the batch file that the frontend produces - mpcbatch.bat -, you'll see that that's OK.
hmmm. yes I see.
I can't get the encoder to do LPAC or FLAC either.
Jan.
Having had a quick look at the source code, there is no mention of either LPAC or FLAC currently. I would assume that these are a 'to do' rather than done!!
In fact the compiled code is no where large enough to include decoding for either or both!!

Edit
Sorry, it was late when I looked at this last night. My first comment is pure sh1t! I don't have the encoder source, of course, I only have the decoder source!! Dumb, or what?
I think my second comment still holds though.
Ok, I'm trying to figure out a way to log the dos-prompt...
One last thing to make this a perfect frontend: Auto-shutdown on finish.
Jan.
Your frontend is great.
I've been meaning to comment ever since I downloaded it.
Feature Suggestion:
I'd like a checkbox that says "apply replaygain after encoding" that would use replaygain --auto...
Jansemanden, I have asked around for logging but didn't find out how to do it yet. I don't think it will be possible through some kind of command in the batch file. As for 'shutdown on finish', I would like to keep this a simple frontend without all kinds of bells and whistles. There are many shutdown utils around.
Glad you like it Somebody.
Lucpes, I will see if I can add replaygain functionality to the frontend.
I've made a version with limited ReplayGain functionality. Only the --auto switch is supported. Check it out and let me know what you think! http://home.wanadoo.nl/~w.speek/batch_encoder.htm (http://home.wanadoo.nl/~w.speek/batch_encoder.htm)

Jansemanden, I made a special version with optional PowerOff when encoding finished. Get it here: http://home.wanadoo.nl/~w.speek/download/m...c_1.7alpha2.zip (http://home.wanadoo.nl/~w.speek/download/mpcbatchenc_1.7alpha2.zip)
Please let me know if it works OK.
