Title: in foobar: Send to playlist x and play via doubleclick/shortcut?
Post by: knarz on 2009-09-11 21:02:23
hi

i´m relatively new to foobar, and i like its speed, minimalism and configurability.

but there´s one thing i can´t get to work (which seems quite basic to me):
in the library, i would like to associate a command like "enqueue this track in playlist x and play it instantly" to doubleclick (or a shortcut).
at the moment i´m using the foo_navigator´s history-playlist, but i can either play the track instantly and destroy the playlist, or keep the playlist intact without instant playback.
(and a new playlist for every track keeps getting messy very quickly)

can someone please help me?

in the library
I assume you mean the Album List? FYI, the album list is just one of many installable library viewers.

Again, I assume X playlist is usually your current one?
You can chose "Add to current playlist" from the events section of Preferences->Library->Album List and then Check the "Start playback when sending selection to Playlist" option under Playlist interaction.

That is about as close as you are going to get.

yes, i meant the album list, thx for pointing that out.

It would be nice if i could select a playlist (like History or Default, as in Preferences->General - Windows Shell Ineraction ) in the preferences to which the selection is sent. but for the moment the current playlist is ok.

I tried that, but if i select "Add to.." and check that item, it doesn´t start playing on doubleclick. I suppose it only does if i select "Send to current playlist" in the events-section.
