General Audio / Re: Is the loudness war over?
Last post by DVDdoug -
It seems that a couple of generations of musicians, producers, and engineers have grown-up thinking that dynamics are bad.

The mega corporation bosses, dev-geeks know best. Replaygain won't affect it .  Go back to what butch vig once said. These people and also most of silicon valley are total megalomaniacs .  You can see it increasingly not only in the loudness war, but in now in web design, phone OS , pale grey small fonts & un intuitive UI etc..
Successful corporations are not stupid.   They produce what people buy.    If most of the top sellers and Grammy winners are dynamic recordings everybody will be copying the style next year.

There are (were) even more unsuccessful businesses trying to sell things that people don't want.

And, there's not much music business here in Silicon Valley (unless you count Apple, but they don't produce music they only distribute it.)

...I'm old enough to remember vinyl records and when CDs came out I expected more bands to start making dynamic music to take advantage of the dynamic range on a CD.   That didn't happen and I realized that the musicians (and the public) weren't interested in dynamic music.

that person not agreed and so I have created this thread
you know, there are enough trolls on the Internet making nonsensical claims, that making a thread about each of them would quickly turn a forum into a spam fest.

because the music player gets stopped when the wired earphones is disconnected and doesn't resume when the wired earphones are re connected again
there are players who can change this behavior, so if that's the only reason to say goodbye to corded headphones it's a waste of money.

earphone products which are affordable, durable, highest quality in sound
if these existed, nobody would ever buy any other.
I can recommend audiotechnica M50x, but I'm not sure if these count as affordable.

Does ear gets damaged by using these software's.
if it could then listening to certain "bad" kinds of music also could. if a software can modify the sound making it "harmful" somehow then this could as well be in the sound recording from the beginning.

General - (fb2k) / Artist search/jump within playlist,...Skins, skins, skins
Last post by Hriderxx1100 -
Newbie hoping I'm in the right place for this question. Have been using Br3tt skins for several years, most recently with an older version of Foobar and Br3tt's Slate skin. Within the active playlist, a simple SHIFT + letter or letter combination would jump to that entry. The ability to do that is great, especially with a large music collection. Now my dilemma,...I have just installed the most recent Foobar Stable Version 1.4 and installed Atarod's gorgeous Pandora Box EX 1.6 Skin, absolutely stunning on a big screen. Still finding my way around with the new configuration and trying to find how to jump/search within the active playlist. Hovering over the playlist and typing text will produce a small box displaying the typed text in white letters. Within a second or two the white text turns red and then disappears and the playlist stays where it is. I could query Atarod on Deviantart but not sure how often he checks in,...plus, I'm sure this is a walk in the park for some of you guys.......OK, I'm ready for a big head-slap "D'oh" moment!  More thoughts,...around a year ago I discovered the incredible combination of a Harmony Hub and the harmony smart phone app, (android for me). I don't know how remote controls can get any better than your smart phone. Initially I used bluetooth control of the PC but have recently switched to letting the Harmony IR control the PC which is WAY better. [1]

I heard somewhere that if we continuously listen to music brain cells get damaged but I have argued it's false but that person not agreed and so I have created this thread. Thanks for your clarification.

I have installed arise sound mod on my device to get rich experience while listening to music and it is working properly.

Arise sound mod includes Dolby atmos, Dolby digital plus, viper, dirac etc.,. Does ear gets damaged by using these software's.

One week back I brought xiomi Bluetooth audio receiver from this webpage
http://m.store.mi.com/in/item/3180600001

I have brought it because the music player gets stopped when the wired earphones is disconnected and doesn't resume when the wired earphones are re connected again.

Do you think listening to music through xiomi Bluetooth audio receiver is not safe.

FLAC / Re: Encoding a FLAC file several times

What sort of problems do you think it would introduce? Either the encoder works or it doesn't surely?

Use level 8, it really is negligible the extra amount of time taken.
