How to remove songs from library?

I tried selecting and hitting the Delete key, but they came back when I reloaded.

Is there any way to keep files on the hard drive, but not in the player ?

Make them hidden in Explorer.

Move the files to a folder outside of your Media Library (Preferences > Media Library > Music folders).
