General - (fb2k) / Scrobbling troubles...
Last post by Spirit.Crusher -
Hi guys,

I made my account hoping to find an answer.

I just upgraded my PC, and I cannot find a solution for scrobbling from "foobar2000" to "lastfm", under Windows 11 Pro. It's working with iTunes and WMP, but these players are a joke. I just cannot live without foobar2000. I'm a diehard user since 2008, at least. I really like to find all the music stats on my last.fm profile. Everything was so smooth under Windows 7, but now...

Please, a kind soul, help the poor man. Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Stefan.

This is officially certified as "works on my pc".  :D

It's not necessary to be a part of any layout - I've just included it for illustrative purposes. You only need to enable the check box once and that's it.

It does save the queue as an external playlist on shutdown but since I write to the fb2k profile folder, there should be no permission issues.

Hi marc2k3, thanks for your advice. I managed to install everything. But the queue won't hold a list of recordings. I have the latest version of Foobar2000 and also the queue component from your link. "Keep queue on close" is checked. I'm making a mistake somewhere, unfortunately I don't know where. I've been dealing with it for several hours alternately on 2 PC's. Can you please advise me? Thanks.

Other Lossy Codecs / Re: Quite OK Audio (QOA)... anyone ?

@Porcus  Yes, <freeware developer> isn't obliged to to create <software to my demand> for me for free, but you should not sigh because sampling rate (and channels as well) are independent from quality. As the sampling rate increases, the average quality that you will get with the same codec at the same bitrate will decrase, and vice versa. For example, 32kbps MP3 is pretty transparent to me, but only at a relatively low sampling rate (for example 11025Hz) with mono. But, the MP3 stream must be at least ~96kbps to be transparent to me at 22050Hz stereo. However, this value isn't ~192kbps for 44100Hz stereo because my hearing cutoff starts to affect the sound at this point. This is not quality. Speed (sampling rate or cutoff), channels, and quality are completely independent variables.

*sighs*

I don't understand why you don't want having a 4-bit variation of QOA.

I didn't say that.
You need to realize that <freeware developer> isn't obliged to to create <software to your demand> for you for free.
If you need an altered version in <software project>, feel free to take note that it is MIT licensed.
