Apple's AAC encoder is known to use less bitrate for quiet signal.
As for MP3 or AAC-LC, you can encode at loud level and then you can change the volume by mp3gain or aacgain.

It might be that the news submissions are set to a different visibility level until they're validated. Once they’re moved to the "validated news" section, they’re more likely to show up in recent topics. You could consider reaching out to the admin for more details on how visibility settings work!

some codecs are better than others at compensating for this.
iirc, Opus doesn't use a fixed noise floor.
Musepack encoder can be manually tuned (--ltq_gain) so you can put negated ReplayGain value there for example.
but actually *hearing* the difference caused by this will be impossible on most material of course.

Validated News / Expected Downtime: Server Moving

The current data center in which Hydrogen audio (and all of dBpoweramp, and foobar2000, AccurateRip, etc) is closing in 4 weeks time. Today I installed new equipment in a new data center ready for the move. In about 1 weeks time, this forum will be locked and will take the existing server (with everything running well) over to the new datacenter and update the DNS. Downtime at worst will be 1 day.

EDIT - I have tried. Would it be possible to make your component compatible with foobar 1.4.3 ? On my DJ laptop I use that version of foobar, and I have no reason to update since it already suits my DJing needs perfectly...

When updating foobar2000 to version 2.24.3 on top of the DarkOne v4 mod based on v1.5.8.0, an error appears at startup:

How can I fix it?
Unfortunately, the mod is no longer supported by the author.

It would be great if we could have this software on our computers. I think that is the reason people are not really keen on testing these, because there is no exe file to run.

Nothing exceptional, just the external hard drive dose note shown in the App, even when I am trying to adding it manually, only the internal storage are accessible by Fobaar2000.
