Is it just me, or the dudes there at audiosciencereview are some kind of sect?

I have been asking a lot of questions here lately (Foobar forums), so I didn't want to become too much and I went there to ask about something, and for fucks sake, apart for Naruto fandom I rarely experienced such level of group trolling.

It was so surreal that I did a search for audiosciencereview here and found a few posts with similar experiences as mine.

And what a bigot idea of what science is. That place should be named audioscientologyreview.
They can't prove shit but they want me to believe what they say and call me stubborn and my experience impossible and placebo because I can't prove it?
Wtf?
And I've been threatened three times (not even by mods) for saying fuck and shit although not in an offensive way.
Really like a church.

It's not that I can't understand where they come from, nor that I completely disagree with them.
But I had an experience that I'm reasonably sure about, and while I do wish to understand it better I don't enjoy when people try to convince me and throw passive aggressive insinuations if I don't agree.

(so this is an indirect positive feedback about this community through a negative feedback about another one, tbc)

I don't know what happened and what was written, but this place (hydrogenaudio) requires proof when you state something about subjective sound quality. See https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,3974.html#post_tos8

TOS 8. All members that put forth a statement concerning subjective sound quality, must - to the best of their ability - provide objective support for their claims.  Acceptable means of support are double blind listening tests (ABX or ABC/HR) demonstrating that the member can discern a difference perceptually, together with a test sample to allow others to reproduce their findings.  Graphs, non-blind listening tests, waveform difference comparisons, and so on, are not acceptable means of providing support.

In the past, people putting forward such claims without proof have been called stubborn, their experience likely placebo and impossible on hydrogenaudio. And people have been "threatened" and banned for not abiding to the rule mentioned above. As you don't share details of your experience, I can't tell this place is any different.
Music: sounds arranged such that they construct feelings.

Didn't bother visiting this one in particular, but:

...some kind of sect?
Aren't 9 out of 10 of these places where audiophools and placebophiles gather?

I mean, all that mutual back-patting and approval-seeking for the thousands of dollars spent on gear—just to soothe their so-called golden ears—can only be the domain of emotionally frail fanatics looking for a place in the sun, right?
• The older, the lossier
• Listen to the music, not the media it's on.
