After Foobar reads a SACD, can it export each song as FLAC?

as I only get Foobar to convert ea. song as WAV w/ a mesg. saying "Foobar 2000 doesn't support DSD pass thru, the conversion will not be losssless"

if Foobar can't do it, is there any other software that can read a SACD ISO, and export ea. song as FLAC or DSF out

DSD streams are not PCM, which is why foobar2000 warns you. If an application converts it to WAVE / FLAC without warning you, it is still going to be lossy. Not that you can hear the difference ...

* To extract from ISO: https://www.videohelp.com/software/sacd-extract

* WavPack can compress DSF losslessly (well as long as it isn't already DTS-compressed). Not through foobar2000, but through the executable. If you download it, and then rename wavpack.exe as per this post, you can drag and drop the DSF file to it. (If it is ID3v2.4 tagged, tags will not follow.)

Imprecise from me. You can drag and drop without renaming too, but this gives you better compression and will verify and will import id3v2.3

But the point is, WavPack has a special mode that han handle DSD files. None of the other lossless formats have. And you have to use WavPack directly.

EZ CD Audio Converter will convert SACD ISO to FLAC (PCM highest possible quality), DSF or DFF in bit-exact DSD mode, or WavPack DSD no matter if the source is DSD or DST compressed. https://www.poikosoft.com

Don't do that.

FLAC's "highest possible quality" nowadays is megabit sampling rate sampling rate, depth of 32-bit integer. This amounts to eleven times SACD bitrate (give or take for compression efficiency) in stereo - files will be enormous. Files will not be FLAC subset, so some decoders might choke on them.
And it will still be lossy.

so the first s/w, I can't get it to work (sacd-extract), it says "can't stat dev/cdrom no such files..., program terminates"

the last one, from Pokkosoft, I use the default setting, it exports a no. of FLAC files, w/ ea. file about 300MB to 500MB, and when I try to play it, it says "MPC-HC could not render some of the pins in the graph, you may not have needed codec or filter install

Video LAN won't even play

what can I do?  or what did I do wrong?

Default output format from DSD64 is 32-bit (float) 384kHz (DXD)

VLC does not support 32-bit FLAC as yet.

Set output format to 24-bit 96kHz (equal PCM quality for SACD ISO DSD64)

the file that I "found" plays well w/ Foobar.  Now I did extract the songs to WAV, but I prefer lossless. 

as to Poikosoft, what should the sample Hz be?  I just experiment w/ it at 44100Hz, the file size greatly reduced, but the 2 software still can't play the file

likewise, I have the choice of bit depth at 8, 16, 24, 32 bit, what do you people use?

Porcus, that software doesn't work, it says "arthimetic decoding error"

Jurgga, your trick works.  I had an old recording of that same ISO converts to WAV, I'll now compare this new export to the old one, and play both on my stereo sys. and see the difference.  Thanks

You are not getting that.
SACD to WAV is never lossless.
SACD to FLAC is never lossless.
