No audioscrobbling (Florian's foo_audioscrobbler) with Internet ra

Hi,

Florian's excellent foo_audioscrobbler does not seem to scrobble Internet radio streams, although Foobar2000 shows the 'Now Playing' information. I get this message in the console:

Code: [Select]
Opening track for playback: "http://scfire-dtc-aa01.stream.aol.com/stream/1003"
Audioscrobbler: Skipping track due to unsupported track length

Is this something that could be either worked around on my side, or be taken into account if and when some development may take place?

But I'm afraid this was already discussed (and ruled out) in the past. Someone please prove me wrong.

As far as I know, the guys at last.fm don't want internet radio to be scrobbled, because most radio streams aren't tagged accurately. This is to prevent having more wrong band names and sont titles in the database, which I fully understand.

Unfortunately the audioscrobbler plugin also doesn't scrobble songs played via the last.fm radio component, which is the only stream that would be OK to be scrobbled because the tags come from last.fm itself. Would be great if that could be added - or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Aah, hadn't thought of that from last.fm's perspective . OK, so they want all the information to be 100% accurate, and for me it would be good enough just to get what I've listened to saved and showed on e.g. Facebook. Oh well, conflicting interests I guess.

I think you are doing something wrong, because for me, it works. Be sure that you unchecked "only submit tracks from the ML" in audioscrobbler plugin options

callisto, are you sure that tracks you listen to from an internet radio station are scrobbled? which internet radio station have you been using where your tracks have been scrobbled?

I unchecked "only submit tracks from the Media Library" and also get following error while listening to an internet radio station:
"Opening track for playback: "http://xxxx.xxx:0000/stream"
Audioscrobbler: Skipping track due to unsupported track length
"

When i open the stream.m3u the console displays "Opening track for playback: "http://xxxx.xxx:0000/stream"", already a few seconds later the message "Audioscrobbler: Skipping track due to unsupported track length" pops up. how can this be possible? does foo_audioscrobbler see that the track length is "?" (at least thats the case on the internet radio station i am using) and then publish the error? can this issue even by fixed by the internet radio station by adding the track length (is this even possible?)?

i just noticed that i get
"Opening track for playback: "http://xxxx.xxx:0000/stream"
Audioscrobbler: Skipping track due to unsupported track length
"
quite often, probably for every track i listen to?! That would mean that it does know when the track ends -> when the tags artist, track change?
And i just noticed that i fail and that this isnt the case, so ignore this!

I can understand that last.fm doesnt want internet radio stations to be scrobbled ( here is a discussion on last.fm about this issue http://www.last.fm/forum/21717/_/340809/1 ). I dont wanna mess up my last.fm with bad tags too. The internet radio stations i listen to have correct tags and if they don't, then i simply not gonna scrobble them, since it hurts me and whole last.fm. Anyway this isnt the right place to discuss this. This right here is for finding a way to make foobar scrobble tracks from an internet radio station! In the same topic as above posted ( http://www.last.fm/forum/21717/_/340809/1 ) on page 6+7 tweaks were posted for winamp, which make it possible to scrobble tracks from an internet radio station. Maybe we are able to find a solution too?

I was just referring to the issue, that he could scrobble last.fm radio streams (from last.fm radio component), which does work. I have no experience with general internet streams.
