Poor audio sound iphone

Hi
I haven't been here at this forum for a while. Tried searching the forum, but I couldn't find anything.
I listen a lot to Spotify, but I want a better sound quality than iPhone can offer. What do you recommend! Any dedicated MP3 player with wifi and Spotify or are they hopelessly obsolete?

What's wrong with the IPhone? Hardware wise the recent models are quite ok, if they get loud enough for you.

What headphones/earbuds are you using? The problem could lie there.
