foo_dop without iTunes

I want to use foobar to manage my iPod but I would rather not install iTunes on my new machine.
I read the topic here regarding this problem but it doesn't seem to work for me.
I am on Winows 7 64 bit RTM, using foobar 0.9.6.9
I was able to install quicktime and AppleApplicationSupport msi installers, but AppleMobileDeviceSupport installer does nothing when I run it.
I have also tried the "-passive /promptrestart" commandline switch for all the installers with and without, AppleMobileDeviceSupport still does not react. Every time I try to load my iPod library from foobar, it doesn't detect the iPod.

Has anyone gotten it to work on Win7 64bit?
