Scalar volume control not supported with this device

Hello All,

I'm a new user of foobar2000 and I'm having trouble getting the volume to work.

My eetup: foobar2000controller app on android phone controlling foobar2000 on Windows 10 PC, outputting to Yamaha CD-NT670D MusicCast HiFi.

All works great apart from the volume control.  When I change the volume via the phone app I get the error message from foobar2000 on the PC:

"Scalar volume control not supported with this device.
Please use volume up / volume down menu commands or keyboard shortcuts."

When I try to alter the volume via foobar2000 on the PC it moves then snaps back to '49'.

Has anyone had this error before and knows a solution?

Sorry if I'm missing something simple here.
