Other Lossy Codecs / Re: exhale - Open Source USAC encoder

Thanks for the feedback!

AiZ, do the FFmpeg decoding glitches disappear when you use a lower preset? That may hint at the cause of that issue.

2012, that's interesting! Indeed, coding anything beyond 20 kHz is kind of silly, so I activated full-bandwidth coding only with preset 9 (after all, some may expect full audio bandwidth from a preset claiming "archival quality").
Note, though, that I added some fine-tunings going beyond simply pumping more bits into the encodings. Also, only very very few coding bits are actually spent above 20 kHz. You can verify that by looking at the spectrograms of the decoded - original difference waveforms.

Some more results from my side: current bitrate peak with HA sample Closer to God (edit), ca. 353 kbps with high-rate preset 9. Will update this post later.

What happened to @Crossover and his upcoming version 2.x.x.x of foo_enhanced_spectrum_analyzer?

I wonder what you're actually doing while being inactive on this forum for a year or whatever?

foobar2000 for Mac / DSD playback for macOS
Last post by mongobot -
Setup:
M2, macOS 15.4
FB2K 2.24.3, foo_input_udsd-0.1.2
Topping E30 / AK 4493

Question:
So I've just recently started using FB2K on my Mac and I'd like to be able to play back .dsf files but I'm having trouble setting it up.
With foo_input_udsd-0.1.2 installed, .dsf files are recognized by FB2K and appear to be playing but the DAC is telling me the output is 176.4 PCM and I don't actually hear any audio.
Preferences>Tools>DSD is set to Type>DSD and Converter defaults to Multistage (32fp)

What am I missing to get .DSF files to play back properly?

Titles says it all. I've been getting some on Chrome but not on Firefox.

As it might be on my side only, I wonder if anyone else's been getting those too.

Is the "aftermath" (if there is such a thing) of the server transition somehow still ongoing, @spoon‍ ?
